For people laughing at me a couple weeks ago for saying the playoffs were still realistic... Pats are now the #8 seed (1 spot out of the playoffs), and the two teams ahead of them (only by a half a game each) are the Steelers and the Chargers, and they own the tiebreaker over the Chargers obviously now with the head-to-head... They're only 1 game behind the #5 seed (the Bengals) thanks to the Jets win today. They're also only 1.5 games behind Buffalo for the division still.
I thought with the 17 game season, they added 2 play-off spots?

EDIT: Just looked. Only 1 added.

Herbert is not big time yet which I said during the week and why I thought this game was winnable.

Pats should’ve blown them out if it weren’t for the refs.

O line was eh in pass blocking.

Harris was held back by the refs.

Harry made some clutch grabs.

Aghlor looked irritated with so many over throws.

Judon is having a great year.

Chargers saw the curse of the former player in Phillips.

Uche meanwhile is a ghost. I watch him on passing downs and he has zero rush moves. I though he’d have a better year than this.

I can’t stand Jalen Mills. He’s been bad all year. Poor use of money.

No close ups of Steve again. Is Bill hiding him now on the sidelines?
Josh Uche was a draft pick on his rookie deal and only has a base salary of $538k and total compensation if he makes his bonuses under $1M. Not a big deal. Give the guy a chance to learn how to play linebacker in the NFL.

Your point about N'keal Harry is right - three excellent catches at key moments in the game, including on the long 4th quarter drive that iced the game. If he can be trusted in big situations along with Agholor, Bourne, Henry and Smith, the Patriots receiving corps is fine.

The defense was great today. Too bad they gave up that last TD while essentially playing prevent to run the clock.

We won the game and now are 4-4 and getting on a roll....this is what you're going to focus on after the biggest win of the year? Wow
You must’ve missed my original post which didn’t focus on that. I’m just responding to you.

And yet, you don’t answer my question.

I think the New Orleans game was the worst game for Mac this year.
the new orleans games I may have misremembering, but there were a ton of passes that bounced off reciever hands.

Crazy thing is, the pass before that could’ve been intercepted too. So two horrible passes in a row. Also, they had plenty of time. All they needed was a FG to win. Brady was trying to win it with 1 play. Just work your way downfield and get the winning FG.

He was having a brilliant day before that horrible throw. Had 375 yards and 4TD passes and 70%+ completion percentage. He literally threw that game away.

He had a STRIP SACK & (officially) TWO INTs and I think he had like two more (felt like 3) taken away by friendly refs. not sure about “brilliant”

I was watching TB game while actually looking at pats gamecenter and the GDT. (Only game on German tv). So I should be excused if I get it wrong, but IMO he seemed rattled by NO D and off on a lot of throws. Is it now his age, or just a bad one-off day (with almost 400 yards LOL).

Incredible we're back to .500 - even though its mostly on the backs of terrible teams.
This was a huge confidence boost - since the pass game was completely off today, but D and ST came through.
Good old school 3-phase Patriot win.

I think McCaffrey will cause our D a lot of problems, since Ekeler scorched us a lot today. CMac is even more dangerous.
But, I expect our Offense to re-focus and get the TE's more involved. Mac & Co were just 1 or 2 feet off so many times, that doesn't seem like something that isn't fixed with a good precise week of practice.

Didn’t see the live thread today.

It was a great win. Besides the one drive where they should of run it down at the goal line got no complaints.

9/19 on 3rd down is strong, 11 minutes of top advantage was the difference. Neither QB look great today but ours was better when it counted.

This team is starting to come together and its beautiful to see the fruits of a rebuild in progress. Judon and Barmore have quickly become fan favorites and deservedly so. Phillips came up huge with the two picks today. They needed him to step up and he did big time.

Hunter Henry didn’t light up the stat sheet today but he made some key blocks that just aren’t gonna show up unless you were watching. He has been impressive and striving to be that first round pick that everyone thought was can’t miss. Hopefully he gets there with us. So far so good.

Onto Carolina. Of course McCaffrey will be back. He’s one of the most electric players in the NFL and also on my fantasy team. However Patriots first. Hopefully he either runs 10 yards and we in or 200 yards and we win. Either way it would be great to get to 5-4.
