RIP Jerry Remy

There are some celebrities that pass away and you feel bad but 10 minutes later it's back to normal.

This one hurts.

While RemDawg's passing is not surprising, it kinda feels like someone you saw every day, was part of your daily routine and they suddenly pass away. Whats left is a gap, some great memories and an appreciation for them in your life.

The man was part of some of our baseball fan lives for 6 decades.

RIP RemDawg.

He got a huge 2-out hit in the bottom of the 9th of the Bucky Dent game that extended the game, just before Yaz popped out. He was a solid 2 way player.

Maybe not the most perfect thing to share today, but it shows Jerry could laugh at life.

Jerry still hadn't stopped laughing two minutes later!

The pizza throw game was also hilarious. Loved listening to Remy and Eck together, very entertaining. He and Orsillo were a good pair too. Gonna miss the Remdawg, Buenas noches, amigo.

Loved The Rem Dog. RIP

R. I. P.

Kinda the Red Sox version of JE.

Rem and Orsillo were the best pair ever- very stupid mistake by management to force Orsillo out. I muted the games after that then fell off the bandwagon, came back for '18, fell off again. When it comes to baseball I am very much a fair weather fan.

Damn, thread was merged in the middle of my reply

Yeah, I agree about the Rem and Don team. They were great together. Couple broadcasts that stand out were "air guitar one when Rem almost fell out of the booth" and the interview with Lenny Clark. Anybody clever enough to find clips of these?

RIP Mr Remy. Godspeed...........

Man this is sad. Really no other words at the moment. He will be missed.

sad news.

RIP and peace to his family

I'll miss Jerry but hope they keep Eck in his place, Eck is good too. I was at the 78 game when he got the hit to right, Piniella lost it in the sun and it almost got by him, I was there in right field. Huge hit and only one out. Thought Yaz would come through. Too bad he couldn't win the series as a player.

Loved this guy growing up. Those 90s and early 2000s Soxs games are so great to watch! True legend

Was a very good player,offense/defense with speed.
Great color guy, great sense of humor, knew the game, RemDawg felt like family.
Best Red Sox broadcaster all-time imo.
Cancer is pure evil. Its not the "Will of God" or fate or any other nonsense. Its just pure evil. Anyone here who lost somebody close to this scourge knows of which I speak. And my guess is theres a lot us here who have.
RIP Jerry, you brought joy.
