PostGame Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Texans

Immediate Postgame Reactions
I think D came in over confident (at least Jackson - trying to prove something). The secondary taking dumb angles looking for tips and picks. Thinking they could outplay any rookie QB as easy as Wilson, by just showing up. I think it was good to get shell shocked the first half to tighten up. Hopefully these guys learn a good lesson here. Any given Sunday!

We spent $100 million in free agency, have players returning from COVID, have a pro-ready QB, and were 7-9 last season.

We should be better than this. This team looks like it will be WORSE than last year.

Great job IGNORING everything going on currently:
Of the 8 players who opted out last season, only 2 are with the team currently.

Onwenu and Wynn both on the COVID list NOW.
Trent Brown - On IR.
Shaq Mason - Out.

That's 4 of your starting O-line not playing.

Mills- Out.
Wade - Out

2 of the 5 CBs on the Team are out. You have your newly minted #1 and your #3 and #5 CBs playing.

For fans who are looking at more evidence Mac Jones can be/is the guy.....

I don't think he was as good as his stats today - got a couple of dropped ints (then again, might have had another 40-60 (not sure) yards and a TD on the Meyers drop.

Even with that, I agree. He's impressing the hell out of me for a rookie.

Weird. Remove a week 1 fumble, a week four Andrews miss in grabbing David and holding him down from tipping the pass, and this team would likely be 4-1.

They're only going to get better.

Dude. Really?

Why are you acting like that the reason we sucked today? Our defense was atrocious until Larry Tonsil got hurt, and our offense is still the same old 2 touchdown 1-2 field goal fumbling machine it's been all year.

Some of y'all are way to optimistic for no reason.
Dropkickflutie is that you?

This is a bad team. There are no longer any moral victories to take from close losses to bad teams or scraping out a win against objectively the worst team in the league.
Houston isn't "objectively" the worst team in the league. That's bias right there.

I'm fine with it on a few occasions, so long as we never try to actually THROW to Mac...
Exactly . He was a decoy. Even JMD isnt that dumb. .... or is he??? LOL

Nah not with the personnel and OL we have and I don’t want Mac going wide out.
It's not like they will throw to him on the goal line.

We won. Why on earth would you want to take plays out that work?

We are simply not good enough to "do what we do". We need to be creative. I give Josh credit for thinking out of the box.

I would say if you're looking for objectively the worst, and you think it's Houston, you need to take a closer look at the 0-5 team that Houston blew out in week 1.

Was awesome 4 weeks. Was suspect today. I wish speedy recovery to Mills, whom I’m high on.
Agree. Who knows what his deal was today.

Mills is serviceable.

Yep that's the way to evaluate Mac right now.

Hes good for 2-3 OMFG plays a game but over 60 minutes he'll be alright and even very good.

Or a guy like Tom Brady. He'll probably put a 50 burger on us, right!? It NEVER works that way. The NFL is week to week and matchup to matchup. Gotta play MUCH better against them, but these results are never a foregone conclusion.
Why so sensitive? All I said was it will be interesting to see how our secondary performs against DAL & LAC given that a HOU team that ranked in the bottom of the league was able to do this.

Sorry I dared to express concern. Maybe everything is just fine and I'm just a delusional fan.

I'd drug test JC Jackson...he was a walking clusterf*ck the entire game. O line held up far better than I thought they would. Man, we HAVE the QB...we got him....Bill better give the kid some beef up front.
Gonna echo what I said about DAndrews in early/mid Aug after his 1st kid was born: JC Jackson is gonna be mentally out of commission for the next 2 months after his (1st?) kid was born earlier last week.

Here’s the thing I wish to make clear. I want the Pats to win. I want Mac to be The Guy for the next decade or more. I want Belichick to be his head coach for as long as reasonably possible given his age. I want him to get the Shula record. These are things I want.

However, I am just SICK of the coaches and team personnel below Bill being either a bunch of his sycophants or his own kids. Please, Kraft, demand he hire a real god damned stuff. Make him take a cut out of his allegedly 20+ million a year salary to pay for them if you must. Just please Pats, GET REAL COACHES. PLEASE. And don’t say “there’s Mayo” because unless he gets a promotion and a title next year he IS gone because he’s already on the short list for a HEAD coaching job.
