A bit, but the only secondary as beat up as theirs that I can think of in recent memory was the 2004 Pats. 3 starting corners and a starting safety gone. That’s almost your entire starting Nickel defense.
Apparently Davis is out a few weeks and Winfield is in the concussion protocol. Ridiculous amount of injuries.

I though Davis tore his quad at first blush.

Most people thought we were going to get blown out last night. We were very competitive and didn't allow a td pass at all. Who would have thought that? There are some things to be optimistic about. Mac wasn't intimidated at all.
I see it the other way. I don’t think we were competitive because the D played out of their mind but because the Bucs O played very sloppy. They still put 380 yards of offense without the drops I think it’s closer to 450. Brady wasn’t very sharp. He missed a lot of short throws in the first half. They had 19 3rd in the game that’s a lot. They were not all due to the D. Most of them were self inflicted mistakes.

Evans dropped, in my opinion, a TD pass or at least his momentum would have put very close, probably inside the three and Brown dropped a TD. That’s 11 pts right there. Two drops are the difference between a 30-17 game and a 19-17 game

Watching the field goal unit come out for a 56 yard field goal in the rain was like watching Michael Meyers coming at you with no way out. Then it looked good and it's like you thought you got away. But instead it leaves the loudest ****ing DOINK in the history of Gillette stadium like Michael putting a knife through the back of your head. Man that ****ing SUCKED

???

Ya it looked bad. This team won't win a title with those injuries if it continues and we really needed that win! Also read that BB went into the visitors locker room and spent almost a half hour in there with Brady still in there. Well done Bill, well done.

This thread should be used in advanced studies on the effect of attitude and mindset in human success and happiness, with Optimism vs. Pessimism being the primary focus.

Another thing about coaching.. we complain about the FG and I agree with the complaints but the opposite coach put their injured CB1 on the punt team and possibly got his quad tore up. All coaches make blunders.

It’s just football bud, let’s chill out.

I'm completely chill, enjoying my morning watching three puppies play in my back yard, chatting about family with my wife, happy about the Red Sox arriving two years ahead of time, the emotional strength of Mac Jones, and a glass of very good cold brew.

Despite the shortcomings and mistakes on both sides of the ball, the Pats hung tough. Very impressed with Jones, he complete 20 passes in a row, there will be those who will say he did it because______________, nonetheless that stat is impressive.

He needs to be protected better..

I hope fans of both teams are feeling positive after last night. That was a great game of a football and a classy reunion between the two GOATs.

If you are a Pats fan, your team just went toe-toe with the defending super bowl champs. You were supposed to get blown out and you don't even give up a TD to the GOAT. Your rookie QB stared down the GOAT and outplayed him. If it weren't for a few turnovers and a missed FG, you would have won. NOt only that, you saw the GOAT break the yards record in the house that he built.

If you are a Bucs fan, you are just happy to get out of there with a W. You were supposed to blow out a "crappy" team and can't even score 20 points. Moreover, you are pissed that you may have lost your best CB for a long time.

I would say Pats fans should be happier this morning but that's just me.

There was one report that said he'll be out 4-6 weeks but that could be from a fake Twitter account or from some guy who doesn't know what he's talking about. FWIW Dr Chao said it looks like he tore his quad and that's a 4-6 month recovery.

It's just you. We needed the win. I agree about Mac though he looked very good, especially with pressure in his face.

I hope we can put together some wins here until Gilmore returns because when he's back, the safeties will stop cheating over to Mills's side and we can finally clamp down on passing games. I'd love to see Uche get back into it at this point because our pass rush is showing signs of being good. Hightower needs to pick things up too--ho looks dinged.

Coming into the season I had huge hopes for Uche and not so much for Dugger. And here we are with Dugger looking like a Pro Bowl strong safety and Uche disappearing.

I guess I'm pleasantly surprised by Dugger but I want Uche to come on.

Completely agree, he needs to be protected much better. It is hard to win in this league scoring less than 20 pts most of the time.

I pinned this game as a loss before the season and we lost. It was closer that what I expected but this game didn’t really change my perception of this team. I want to see them win convincingly against the Texans and the Jets.

A funny thought occurred to me. I wonder if Bill just gave other teams a blueprint on how to throttle Tampa lol.

No, I don't think it's just me. Go to the Bucs forum and see how pissed they are about the way the game played out.

You mean against the offense? I don't think so. The rain played a factor and Brady looked emotional as ****.
I’ve seen Brady play insanely great games in worse weather.

1.) Mac Jones is for real.

2.) Josh needs to stop trying ot force the run until we have an oline that isn't made of spare parts

3.) I swear to ****ing christ this oline is going to get mac murdered

4.) We still can't stop the run

5.) I'm so sick of listening to chris collinsworth

6.)When did the patriots forget out to tackle people? I mean honestly, I'm watching this ****ing game, and seeing out defenders try and "tackle" people by just shoulder bashing them, it not working, and then watching the bucs runner just keep going.

7.)Steve belichick, if he is the defensive coordinator, needs to go, he's not doing his job in teaching the fundamentals, and its getting us losses. TACKLE PEOPLE. TEACH OUR ****ING LINEMEN AND SAFETY's to use their god damned arms and wrap people up.
5) For an ex-player Collinsworth doesn't give us nearly as many insights as he should. He's too busy bloviating about something away from the game.
