Brady: I wouldn't have had the success I've had without Bill

No, he didn't "win one with Arians." He won one with a freaking ALL-STAR TEAM. Arians was just a bystander and his lack of ability to command smart, disciplined play almost wrecked things early that season. In fact, it's still a problem. Brady brought a semblance of BB's ethos to the Bucs.

Right or wrong, Arians will go down in history as another Barry Switzer I think he was more than just a cheerleader on the sidelines last year. But since he gave so much control of the offense to Brady, it will always be perceived as Brady ran the offense and Bowles led the defense and Arians and Leftwich were along for the ride. I don’t think that changes if they win this year.

If you didn’t care, you wouldn’t seek out so much negative attention.

No, if I cared, I'd be a lot nicer or I'd quit the board. It's a forum - I don't attempt to make friends here. It's not real life.

You did research? Really? Who did you ACTUALLY talk to in the Jets organization from 2001? Or did you find the information online?

OH.. You were too lazy to click on the link from BroBible to the actual NESN article. But even then, you have it wrong. You have disgraced coach Mike Westhoff supposedly repeating something he heard the year before The problem is that neither Herm Edwards nor Bill Belichick confirmed his story.. So that's all it is. A f'in story. Something Westhoff conjured up to give himself 5 minutes of importance.

In case you were wondering why Westhoff was disgraced. He was the special teams coach that instructed players and staff to line-up illegaly along the sidelines during certain punts.

You also have to consider that Mike Westhoff blames the "Jets' downfall" on Mark Sanchez. Not on crappy coaching. Not on crappy drafting by the GMs, but the QB they drafted who was arguably the best QB the Jets had from 2000-2018.

The BIGGER problem is that you're a lying sack of . NEITHER article had Westhoff saying that Belichick told them he was putting his house on the market. So, Joker had every right to "take you to the woodshed and beat you".

Newsflash: Bill wouldn't have told Jets' employees a damn thing that was truthful. BB is known for his mind games. For exaggerating something to the coach ahead of a game in hopes that the opposing coach gets over-confident.

Fun Fact. Belichick said that Brady and Bledsoe were pretty much even coming out of camp in 2001. There were coaches and fans who said that Brady out-played Bledsoe in camp. Belichick went with Bledsoe to start the season because management, at Kraft's insistence, had just minted Bledsoe as the $100M QB. If you think that Belichick wouldn't have switched from Bledsoe had Bledsoe continued the mediocre play from the season before you're fooling yourself.

This post reads like a 7-year old having a screaming fit. What an embarrassment to Patriots fans.

Maybe if:

1. You stopped sticking your nose up the mods collective ass;
2. Stopped snitching on fellow members;
3. Stopped telling ppl who they can root for or what and where to post; and
4. Stopped acting like an entitled lil byatch.

You would still not have any friends but at least people would leave you alone.

I don’t know why I come here, but I know it isn’t for the same reason you come here.

And why is it the same 4 or 5 people who don't leave me alone? Funny it's the same group that doesn’t like my politics...hmm. btw, i’m still waiting for that poll…

Coaches cannot teach talent. What they can do is put players with talent in the best situation to maximize the talent. That is what Belichick did with Brady. Brady had the talent and Belichick nurtured it.

And let's face it, there is a chance that if Brady ended up on another team that he might not have even made it into the NFL or just languished on a team's practice squad for a few years and exited the league. In 2000, Belichick saw the talent in him and decided to keep a fourth QB that year to keep him on the roster, but another head coach may not have seen that talent and let him squander it.
Can't agree with you at all. Is it possible that Brady might not have been drafted or signed as an UDFA absolutely.

But Brady on any team would have stood out and eventually made his way into a starting position by either outplaying the incumbent starter or shining in preseason and joining a different team via trade or FA.

Belichick saw Brady as the better QB in 2001 but didn't start him over Bledsoe because Bledsoe was just given a 100mil contract and viewed as a potential HOF QB. His stats at the time were comparable to other HOF QBs.

The only team that Brady wouldn't have outperformed and taken over is Indy, because Peyton was the face of the franchise and Favre. but he would have shined in preseason and signed somewhere else.

Would he have 7 Superbowls and counting with a different team coach from Belichick? Extremely unlikely.

Would Belichick have been fired after the 2001 season? Most likely.

But it's all pointless, as we got the GOAT in NE and got to see pats in the AFC championship game almost every year and enjoyed the most success any team has ever seen in a 20 year span in NFL history

Brady and Belichick = The GOAT duo. I miss seeing them on the sidelines together and wish Bill had evolved and trusted Brady to stay great and used him as a recruiter so we could still root both of them rocking the Pats attire

I disagree. BB carried Brady as a fourth QB. He recognized something. It was only a matter of time before he benched Bledsoe. Moe just expedited the decision.
Bill would have gotten canned for trying to bench Bledsoe.

Do you forget that Bledsoe was on the path to being a HOF QB?

If Bill didn't draft Brady, he would have had Damon Huard or Michael Bishop to play after Bledsoe got hurt after the 0-2 start.

No HC was going to anything with Damon Huard.

Bill would have been canned after the 2001 season.

Bill would be viewed as the HC that broke a HOF QB in Drew Bledsoe and after the seeing Pete Carroll win a Superbowl with the Seahawks we would be crying about how we let Pete Carroll go to get the HC that broke our HOF QB.

That doesn't take anything away from Bill. Jim Harbaugh after winning a Superbowl was almost fired from the Ravens until he got Lamar Jackson. Andy Reid was fired from the Eagles and mocked until he went to OC and got Mahomes.

Every single HC ever, outside of Joe Gibbs, has required a great QB to win multiple Superbowls

I don't understand any of this post.

Hypotheticals?

BB did draft Brady and he did choose Brady over Bledsoe.

He did carry Brady as a fourth QB. When has any other team done that?

How BB is viewed should be as how it was and not by some hypothetical stuff.

Belichick is the LOAT. Luckiest of all Time.

I'll be signing autographs at the Foxboro Walgreens on Sunday.

Love - Rob

I miss Bill and Brady. Truly a magical duo and seeing them contemplate with one another on the sideline encouraged so much confidence as a fan, and I imagine was terrifying for anyone else who wasn't a Patriot or a fan.

I truly miss the dynamic. I'm 28, that duo literally engulfed a majority of my life and defined my perception of football. Couldn't be a luckier fan, honestly. I witnessed a rare form of greatness.

Good video below...Tom talking about how much he learned from Bill and how important he was to his development. Both Bill and Tom are saying the right things......

I think its safe to say that they both benefited from each other. Hopefully, we can all agree on that.

The mods are definitely on Team Bill

The mods are definitely on Team Bill
How about the mods are on Team Patriots?

That they realize Brady was a special player. That BB is a special coach. That when they were together, they did great things.

How about that?

Why is this team tom and team bill bs needed?

Not division but a conference rival the last few years of the TB era. Take it as a compliment that once mahomes got there you guys were the tough out that we needed to get past yo reach the super bowl. Put you guys up there with the Manning led colts snd later broncos, steelers and Ravens.
Yeah I meant more like not rivals like Jets, Colts (Historically), and Broncos.

I would like to see Belichick/Mac vs Reid/Mahomes playoff games. Would definitely be entertaining.

B.S. is right, and I've said that from the beginning. Political tribalism has infiltrated football, stoked by the media. It's simple and expedient for people to become factionalized over any complex issue so they can have a "comfortably righteous" viewpoint. But the bottom line is that Brady and BB TOGETHER won titles, just like great marriages produce great children. Brady winning a Super Bowl surrounded by a veritable all-star team in Tampa proves nothing, least of all that he "won" vs. BB according to pot-stirrers like Felger.
