Wickersham book discussion

they considered it until they found out what they would have to dump in order to make it happen.........they were never close to doing it
That doesn’t take rocket science. They wouldn’t have Jimmy regardless.

Brady has a soft spot for the Niner’s. He would have made it work

All these destinations for Brady have one thing in common...warm climate.

The Dorito Dink/Deflator texts took place in June/July, not during the season.
The Wells Report deliberately listed them out of sequence to make it look like it happened in season.
When I found this out, I was flabbergasted.

Similar to them leaking Brady destroying his phone, after they said they had all the info they needed.
It was all a complete pile of hore$hit.

Logically, the texts further suggested innocence. References were made to them keeping the balls within regulation, even apparently in June/July, even though they could do whatever the hell they wanted outside of games. But clearly they were keeping it in the permissible range because they knew they‘d have to work within those parameters.

Another reference, from a Jets game, said the refs pumped them up to 13 psi, which isn’t even permissible, but it further shows they were at the mercy of the refs after submitting them.

My guess is this was just a casual, laughing type of matter where refs rarely gave a crap as they joked around with ball boys with their $4 ****’s Sporting Goods pump. Then it became very serious business one night when the whiniest b1tches of all-time decided to whine and b1tch as usual.

Nitpicking, but McNally/Jastremski were texting that the footballs were supposed to be at 13 PSI, but the refs had pumped them up to 16 prior to the game. This led to Brady instructing the equipment guys to show the refs the PSI guidelines in the rulebook so they wouldn't overinflate the balls beyond maximum limit.

Crazy enough, Ted Wells took this as evidence that the Patriots definitely were deflating footballs, when any rational assessment of the events would lead to the opposite conclusion.

Wickersham was on WEEI today and said that Kraft revealed that in 2017 Belichick had a deal lined up to trade Brady but Kraft told him no. It seems Belichick really wanted Jimmy G to take over the team. Thank God Kraft said no as we wouldn’t have the 6th if he had ok’d it.

If true, doesn’t it make NE’s non-acquisition of Jimmy this offseason even more strange ? I know SF « says » they want Jimmy, but let’s keep it real : if they draft a qb that high, they eventually moving on.

Yeah we would have had an overpriced Qb that cannot stay healthy all year. If that is true, Bill lost his mind.

Almost all of Wickersham's writing is from a "confidant" or "someone close to someone" . He says BB and mangini almost fought at the coaches meetings and other coaches had to restrain them. And we havent ever heard of this till now ?

Everyone blames BB for letting Brady go, but Kraft bears as much responsibility...he admitted he wasn't going to step in to save Brady this time.

i dont think sf was going to let him go this year, regardless... shanahan wasnt going to make a run at it with a rookie signal caller... they were only 1 year removed from a super bowl appearance... their widow maybe closing, but it isn't shut just yet...

next year he's probably out in SF... but there was no reason to let him go this year...
