Radio is claiming that Newton’s dad is interviewing him, asking all the tough questions, and Cam is “taking shots” at the Patriots, Belichick, and Jones.

But I’m not listening myself so for now I’m assuming the radio is playing this up for outrage ratings.
Edit: after seeing the tweets below, looks like my assumption was right, seems relatively harmless.

I will not listen to the interview but according to the tweets sounds like Cam did not come off as sour grapes but provided a reasonable PoV into the events leading up to his release.

It's not scratching at all.

He had experience in this offense at CAR before last year. He had experience going into this year. Cam knows this offense. Don't listen to Nink.

They needed an insurance policy in case they didn't get a QB in the draft and show free agents they had a QB.

The league rule is clear.

Did the NEP give him bad info? Accident? On purpose so to sabotage his camp?

Did Cam blindly listen to the NEP? Did he misunderstand the NFL rule/policy?

Where is Mike Wallace when you need him.

Honestly this makes sense why he was released. It's tough to have your backup be a former MVP.

It does make you question whether Bill should've gone after someone else like Fitzpatrick or Minshew in the off-season who would be a better backup and less of a "big name"

Less bombastic personalities for sure, but after what happened with Fitzpatrick in Miami last year, I'm not sure the idea of fighting it out with another first round pick from Alabama would have sat well with him in the end either. And Minshew has a weird following... again, not the personality Cam is, but if he's there and Mac is struggling, I think there's a decent chunk of people calling for him too.

Jones wouldn't have been on the team when the Pat's would have signed Fitz. There's no guaranty that Jones would have fell to the Pats at 15.
