Looks like Mac didn’t have the Boy Band look, so they had to replace him with Chase. Mac looks more like the band’s sleezy manager who is undoubtedly ripping them off.

Truth is Wise isn't that bad of a DE who can put a little pressure on the outside. Might be a situation where his playing time is cut into.

And/or he moves inside on passing downs to rush with Barmore.

Between BB, Mayo and Chris Griffin they'll do a good job of calling the plays.

That one made me think...initially I was like who the hell is Chris Griffin then after asking myself what happened to Steve....I then went oh...I get it. Just a bit slow on the uptake but I finally laughed.

Perhaps, but there's something to be said for watching at least one regular-season game from the sideline before making your NFL debut... And I have no problem with that, as long as Cam isn't the reason why we're losing that particular game...

Mac has been studying the Pats defensive plays.

I don't think this is unusual but for a rook it seems to be

I used to go back n forth with Mason Fine. He used to do this with defensive players in the room on his own. I say on his own bc most teams aren't letting DB's sit in on QB meetings/film room. Most of these guys grew up on Madden and started that way believe it not.

Many others have already said it and it might not be encouraging, but Mac truly reminds me of Chad Pennington. He was not a stud and unfortunately played for a garbage team, but he would pick you apart with his accuracy and good reads. He was so frustrating. It wasn’t his fault that his rotator cuff was beaten to crap. I’ll take that, or what a healthy Pennington could have been, from Mac.

Drew Brees. Both are really good tennis players with only average (NFL) arms. Both are around six foot. Both of them move decently but are not burners. 40 yard times, vertical etc - almost identical. Both of them are from the south.

Sure Mac Jones has an inch and a half on Brees but he looks smaller then then 6'2" out there.. So its really really close.. Brees for whatever reason avoided the 'statue' label - but because of the lust for fast QBs Jones got tagged with it. He can run fine.

How do you call this game without saying "Sunshine Ronny Bass" once?

I would bet he’s close to 6’3”, probably taller than 6’2” 1/2.

i hear alot about high floor but low ceiling. But how low can ones ceiling be under BB and JMD? Depending on how long they are here. Of course, not expecting him to be Brady whatsoever but if he works on his arm strength this kid can be really good in the right environment. From what weve seen in preseason hes got the traits needed to have lots of success here.

By ceiling, they don’t mean rings, they mean ability to make crazy, athletic plays like Mahomes or Allen. It’s a meaningless statement so people on tv can bloviate.

Is it that excruciating for Bill to send a little encouragement to Mac in his development? Not everyone will take this kind of "evaluation" as well as Brady did over the years.

Jones played for Saban...he will be fine
