Very quickly: Great problem to have. Howevever, I believe Cam will not hold up to (regular season, vs. good opponents) game speed. He's still slow in reading and passing, although he is fine by the time he throws it. Mac's quick. This doesn't mean Mac will start. PS, N'keal Harry can too get open. Now he can't catch though.

My prediction is Cam wins the starting job based on experience + mac being a rookie.

Cam was already given the starting job - per BB. But we all know Mac will be the better option by week 5. It's only a matter of BB's enigmatic mood and old school ego of whether he will acknowledge the kid should play even though he hasn't "paid his due" yet.

The only starting job BB has given him so far is the camp and preseason one. This is very much still a competition, which both QB and the coach have acknowledged.

There is so much conjecture in this post. A LOT of assumptions about BB's mindset in a situation he's really never been in before, and a further assumption that what he states to the media is ironclad (Cam is the starter).

as long as Cam isnt a disaster like last year and looks like he did the last 2 pre-season games and plays "okay", He is winning the starting Job.
Even if mac jones is about equal or the better "quarterback." just the cards Bill is playing. Granted, Mac Jones may be the most pro-ready rookie QB from this draft so far.

thats not saying he will start all year though. If Cam starts to look like last year, I think bill will have no qualms at pulling him and putting Mac Jones in.
