Glad he's staying in the region. He does a good job. Hope it's not BSPN.

Personal news: After nine great years, I’m leaving NESN.

An opportunity presented itself that I couldn’t pass up. I’ll discuss that soon (don’t worry, I’m not going far).

Thank you NESN and the wonderful people who work there for supporting me since I started in Sept. 2012. https://t.co/fzAo8QWADl

I doubt it’s ESPN, they’ve hired a ton of Boston guys.

Anyone notice how the Pats Dynasty made the local media a ton of money and household names?

It really is something.

Michael Smith
Holley
Curran got his own show
Felger
Reiss
Rapoport

And players who are now analysts at a national level...

McGinest
Rodney
Bru
Nink

Albert Breer and Damien Woody.

Michael Smith had a great gig and imploded. He turned into a weirdo.

Reiss interviewed Willie McG, Rodney,Bru and Nink a few weeks ago for an indepth piece on what made each of them so successful as analysts. Was a really good read. They all gave Belichick the lions share of the credit. Especially Rodney.
Despite already being a ProBowler with San Diego he got an advanced football education from BB. Taught him to see the entire field, have an understanding of what the entire defense was doing, not just the dbs. Same for the other 3. Thats why theyre better than most other former nfl players. They just see more, not just the obvious stuff. He said the hardest thing he had to do was criticize Bill for the 4th and 2 vs. Colts. But he was doing his job just like Bill taught him. Belichick has told all these guys he knows that and all of them remain close to BB and the Patriots.

And Kyed has done a good job.
All I want from sports journalists is professionalism.
I dont want rumors. Don't want gossip.
Don't give a rats asss about being the first to break a story. Thats not what ANY kind of journalism is about.
Its about getting it f'n RIGHT. When criticism is warranted, criticize. But always with PERSPECTIVE. Something a lot of Boston sports media and some posters here dont know anything about.
I dont want TMZ.

I believe the new rules are that any thread about any person not currently playing for the Patriots is off topic and doesn’t belong on this forum where people might actually see it. So I would expect this be moved.

Half the current threads would be disqualified.

I wish him the best of luck. He is a good family man and a really nice guy. Every time I have dealt with him, it has been a true pleasure. I also like reading his columns and his insights. Him and Reiss are just two down to earth really nice guys.

PFF as a national reporter, still based in New England. Looks like there's some kind of expansion going on at PFF. I know they hired the guy behind the MySportsUpdate Twitter account last week too.

Is either Smith or Jemele Hill with any major network anymore?
Nope.

Wiki says Hill has a show on Vice and Smith has a streaming show on Peacock.

I had no idea. Seems like they dropped off the face of the earth.

Well, for starters there is no "Former Patriots Sub-Forum" nor is there a "New England Sports Media Sub-Forum" - plus it is the off season when news about the Patriots is much slower and therefore policies on off topic threads are more relaxed. But feel free to write a letter to the editor voicing your grievances.

Why would pff be bottom feeding with this guy?

It’s amazing how many of these beat writers hate the Pats even though they were their lottery ticket. Reiss seems like the most down to earth guy while most have inflated ego’s.
