I see him on Special teams and getting some time at WR in blowout games like say 38-7 early 4th. Is this asking for too much?

It's tough because he hasn't gone through a training cmp yet, but it is still his second year. I'm hoping for him to do well with whatever chances he gets as a WR.

He was the second WR taken, and has excellent hands.

I think he will get some developmental playing time. I wouldn't expect him to contribute much this year or next. Maybe the year after. As frusterating as it is for a high pick to not contribute right away, we'll have to wait it out.

It would REALLY help his case a lot if he can get on special teams because then he can sort of compete with Kelly Washington (and Troy Brown) for the last spot on a super deep WR roster.

I am guessing that they drop Washington and keep Jackson and put Troy on speed dial in case somebody gets injuried, but it is hard to guess at this point with much accuracy.

Jackson will have to fill Washington's role and bring a little extra to the table just to make the roster at this point...

Jackson didnt have hands, didnt learn to run routes or learn playbook after 4 years?

At least Jackson has great hands..and is ahead in route running and he says hes got the playbook down

I think Chad is an excellent talent..great measurables..great body/frame..great combo of speed/hands/size/leaps

hes a playmaker..no doubt..i've seen his talent in 13 catches already. but can he get friendly with the playbook and have his # called? I really hope so.

I can't resist. This is the week he has the break out game...

Seriously, none of us know right now and it will be tough to tell with all the talent at WR commanding Brady's attention.

I actually think he's a guy who has a chance to contribute. He's another guy with speed that we can throw out there who defenses will have to account for even if he doesn't catch a lot of balls.

How many receivers do you see on the field?
We sit Stallworth?
We sit Welker?

Seriously, I expect next year for Chad Jackson to make an impact with this team, especially if the Patriots are serious about retaining Asante Samuel and Randy Moss. If the Patriots do sign Asante Samuel, I do not expect the Patriots to exercise options on wide receivers Kelly Washington and Donte Stallworth.

I'm one of the biggest Jackson supporters on this board.
Saying that I don't wanna see Stallworth leave after this year his run after the catch ability is something we greatly lacked last year.
I'd let Samuel walk and use one of our picks to trade for a disgruntled cb, like a dunta robinson in Houston, Maybe a Deangelo Hall.
On a side note has anyone picked up ricardo coclough since pitt released him?

They went 4 wide 16 times in the Redskins game & 15 times in the Dolphins game. The thought of Jackson in one these packages is pretty exciting, IMO.

At times, yes. Neither of them has been on the field for every snap.

Besides, we now have a legitimate 5-wide, something very few teams have.

And of course, you never know what the injury situation will be.

That's why I see them keeping 6 WRs for the rest of the year.
