I am ashamed to say I was indeed reading it in a serious manner. After all the endless deflategate discussions had lo those many years ago, I became immune to all the jokes about "balls". Apparently I still have that blind spot....

Ha ha! All good...I did try to blend it with the actual Rodgers inflation stuff as best I could.

Best. Thread. Ever.

It's been a while. I was worried this was reverting back to a thread about AR
I will go so far to say the mods should pin this thread as a great and shining example of how threads should be.

He's just a little twerp who throws tantrums when he doesn't get his way.... but not stomp-your-feet type of tantrums, merely he behaves in his typical passive aggressive manner.... he leaks out rumors left and right but rarely says anything on record so he can always deny having said what was attributed to him....

He has all the talent a guy could want, but he will not be going down as one of the all time greats. His character - or lack thereof - got in the way.

Interesting fact:

Both Starr and Favre each played 16 seasons for GB before either retiring or aligning themselves with another franchise. Rodgers has just completed his 16th season with GB…with all the ensuing drama, will he follow suit?……It would be a pretty weird coincidence..

In my opinion it is more fault of wrong decisions by the GM/HC than AR that they failed in the PO. AR Played Great Football but they did Not surround him with superior talent offensively except Adams and Jones. Look at the KC Talent and AR‘s numbers with his WR TE. Their draft in 20 sucked completely. Love looks like a bust rn. I know it is too early to tell bc it is only his Second year but reports were really Bad. Despite the Season he should not have struggled to hit stationary targets or WR without DB. I agree AR‘s behaviour sucks but GB decisions sucked as well.

Yep, Goodkunt ****ed up that first-round pick...Should've taken WR Tee Higgins once Justin Jefferson & Brandon Aiyuk were off the board...or even LB Patrick Queen to help the defense...

Blaming the GM because Rodgers choked in the 4th quarter of the NFCCG doesn't make sense. Rodgers was throwing to one of the very best WRs in the league. And Rodgers is confident enough in Tonyan as his TE that he made it abundantly clear he wanted him back. Aaron Jones is a RB who can catch it out of the backfield. The team's offensive line is one of the very best in the league, and Bakhtiari getting injured certainly isn't the GM's fault.

Could the Packers use a better WR2? Sure, but that's not the same as the GM having failed.

That’s a good show. Don’t know what their going to do about “Elliot” Page (top photo) going forward.
Feel like I have been under a rock. I just looked Elliot up. I really don't want to hijack this thread in that direction, so I will echo your sentiment that it's a very good show. I look forward to see what S3 does.

While I understand WHY Rodgers is pissed (and he is right) I CAN'T understand why he is reacting to the GB mistake by sitting out and demanding a trade from a team whose players, coaches and fans he CLAIMS to love. Football is a game of competition. Rodgers should simply do what Tom Brady did when the Pats did a similar move though late in the 2nd round. He simply COMPETED with Jimmy and kept his ass on the bench for the 3+ years he was on the team. It had been reported that Brady wasn't happy about the pick either. But the bottom line in the NFL is that EVERY year your team is adding guys who they hope will be better than you are., and it is YOUR job to compete and prove them wrong.

This is what is fundamentally wrong with what Aaron Rodgers is doing. It is one thing to be pissed about how your team drafted. Hell, Capt Stone hasn't been happy about any Pats draft pick for the last 15 years and he's still a fan. It is even OK to go to your team and demand a trade. BUT if you are under contract (and you SIGNED that paper), you show up and DO YOUR JOB, and keep the little twerp on the bench.

For all the crap I give him, Rodgers is an elte QB in this league. Love is no threat to him and everyone knows it. This ego driven hissy fit is ridiculous.

So GB GM is to blame because he doesn’t have the weapons KC does? How many other teams have those weapons?

Rodgers has a top WR, top RB, and a one of the leagues best lines. He hasn’t been playing for the JETE or the Jags.

I think it just seems that way because every time a top QB fails in the PO there is a tendency to blame the talent around him when it is really him not getting the job done or they just ran into a better team.

It's interesting you bring up KC. Alex Smith had the same exact weapons and got bounced in the first round at home multiple times. Mahomes steps on the field and Kelce is talked about as one of the best TEs in the game and Hill is considered the top WR. That is Mahomes elevating them and everyone else to that level.

Don't get me wrong, I think Rodgers is a supreme talent but he is not a true elevator. He is just too self-focused and worries about his stat line to transcend his ability to motivation for the other players. We saw the same thing with Manning too and his offenses were stacked.

One other thing, LaFleur seems like a top coach, certainly offensively. Rodgers just had his best season under him and was league MVP with the top offense in the league (even better than Mahomes/KC) and yet somehow when the PO rolled around, it was because he didn't have weapons? It is a fallacy because like I said, we tend to do that with top QBs when really it is them or sometimes just bad luck. I mean the Niners were a wagon two years ago and the Bucs this year caught fire in the Saints game and have the GOAT QB who is the best post-season performer ever. But really, in the end Rodgers just choked too. He had a chance at the end and didn't get it done at the goal line. He is paid and revered as one of the greatest because he is expected to get it done in that situation.
