Mine is that Cam Newton winds up getting paid all $14 million. :)

Mind you, that's a dream scenario ... I didn't say it was...

...logical. ;)

Bill addresses the front 7 in FA and signs some competent pass catchers.

Bill drafts a QB either by trading up or getting one at 15. If no QB's are available, grab a standout front 7 player that is a run stuffer or can actually get to the QB. No more "I almost got to the QB" guys.

Cam Newton never takes a snap in the regular season and gets cut in camp.

Harry gets traded.

Fat Thor and **** Vitale's son gets cut.

Mac Jones falls to the Patriots somehow.....that alone shows me they're actually looking toward the future. Please no 3rd or 4th round bums. Latest pick for a QB I can stomach is maybe Kyle Trask in round 2. There is plenty of offensive talent available via Free Agency and the draft.

For all the Trey Lance fans he has the biggest BUST potential. Only 17 career college games of experience. Played against subpar competition in said 17 games and during those games had a habit of staring down his initial read and when it's not there the first thing he wants to do is run. Belichick isn't getting any younger, we don't have time for a guy to sit 2 years on the bench to be "barely" serviceable.

Trey Lance = HARD PASS

Bust potential also means BOOM potential! Mac Jones I'd also be happy with. Just not some 3rd round no hoper!

Some dreams are vivid and filled with specifics, whereas others.....

This lack of specificity allows you to wait until the end of the year to see which vet FAs and rookies pan out and which look like busts....well played.

“I KNEW that they should never have signed/drafted (player X). I much preferred the other pass catcher/front 7 guy/QB (player who had a standout 2021). Belichick is an awful GM!”

We sign kellen mond in 4th round and he performs like russel wilson and we have drafted Rousseau and he turns in a monster year. I think we should go all out on defense this year..

I am in one of two camps. Either the Pats draft Mac Jones or Trey Lance or someone in the second or third round who become a surprise and they become the QB of the future and make the Pats a perennial contender again or I hope they tank the 2021 season and try for Howell, Rattler, or Daniels in 2022. That is all I really care about at this point. Nothing else matters to me. After watching Miami spend decades trying replace Marino and the Bills spend just as long to replace Kelly and the Jets looking to get a true franchise QB for the first time, I don't want to see the Pats do that.

I think that Belichick can make the Pats a consistent contender with a good QB and doesn't have to Brady quality. Won't make them the write in for the AFCCG game at the start of every season like with Brady, but a contender. Without that, who really cares? If the Pats have a lot of talent and no QB, they will likely make it to the playoffs and have an exit in the wild card or division round which will just keep them in an endless cycle of average to above average.

- Resign Guy and Andrews
- Trade for JG if he becomes available . I love the combo of JG + Cam , gives us a solid starter who's proven here and a top notch backup / short yardage specialist
- Emmanuel Sanders, Alshon jeffrey, agholor, Byrd, Njoku, Ertz if cut or Rudolph - think it creates an unspectacular but solid and deep recieving core with Meyers, Edelman, Harry, and the young TE's. The passing game just needs to be good enough to keep defenses from stacking the box. I want Harris/Michel to carry the offense.
- KVN and Hightower back would mostly solidify LB with Uche / Hall / Bentley
- DE(2), DT(2) and a couple prospects at CB via draft / upcoming cuts

We should have enough cap space for this. I would like to approach like 2001, Several bargain signings for mid level talent at areas of need, don't gamble on any huge contracts, hope to land a DL stud via draft. If we field a playoff team this year and spend our $$ wisely, next year we can make the impact signing or trade to put us in contention.

and jones IF he develops might be ryan tannehill......no thanks, i'd rather take the chance on a lance or a mond or even a trask.......

have i mentioned i do NOT like mac jones? he's the weakest of the recent alabama QB draftees....Miami is already moving on from Tua, and Philly won't win a thing with Hurts.....

so for sure my dream scenario includes getting nowhere near Mac Jones

If the WRs are at least respectable and they make a move for a solid vet TE, I can see an "Inside the 5" package featuring Cam and Harris being nasty... I kind of want them to pursue Kyle Juszczyk since I don't think teams will be spending big on FB this year... but it's low on the priority list

Agreed. Watching a football team that doesn’t have a quarterback who can win a Super Bowl is a joyless experience. It doesn’t have to be a guy who can win this year, but as long as you know he can eventually win then I’m invested. Otherwise, meh

1.) Sign all ST aces in FA (a lot are being released right now) and make our ST units the best in the league by far.

2.) Aguyao or Rhowasser beat out Folk for the starting job and go 96%+ on figgies and PATs.

3.) Draft Barmore with 1.15, resign Guy, and add one more edge rusher in FA/draft.

4.) Sign someone like KVN to solidify our LB corps.

5.) Give Gilmore a raise but don't extend him beyond 2022. Tender J.C. Jackson. Pray that JoeJuan leapfrogs Jason McCourty and also takes safety reps away from Chung covering TE's.

6.) Resign Andrews and add more meat to the interior line in case we can't count on Wynn sliding in or in case Cannon does not reclaim the RT job sending Onwenu outside.

7.) Sign a pass blocking TE not at the top of the market like Henry/Smith...and seeing Asiasi/Dalton make the leap forward.

8.) Sign/draft a QB that can also rush to be the 1b to Cam's 1a...and play a quad option rushing offense with 2rb and 2qbs....with two TE's blocking or even 6 OL
men.... just pound the ball, play D, and flip the field on ST's. Old school style....forcing other teams to play with big personnel and keep their sub packages off the field.
