Brady got 27 PI calls in 2020, Mahomes got 4, only 1 other QB has got as many as 20 in like last ten years or something

Flacco would be proud lol. But honestly, that system was a good thing for Brady. He is reluctant to throw deep and the Bucs demanded that he did so. At first it was rough and lead to much media discussion about how Arians is using Brady wrong etc, but eventually they melded and it was like Brady became addicted to throwing it deep. In one of the Buc's playoff games(can't remember which one atm) Brady stuck to the run on first down no matter how ineffective it was in a way I haven't seen here pretty much ever. Commitment to the deep ball and run was like yin to Brady's yang that he needed.

We needed the Bucs version of Brady for guys like Harry who is a 50/50 or draw pi guy but that isn't our thing under McDaniels.
That’s being generous to Harry. Evans and Godwin get open often. Maybe not as wide open as Hill, but unlike Henry they are hard to cover. A lot of DPI on them occurs when guys are clutching, grabbing and holding them to stop them from getting open. Brady sometimes will see that and throw to Godwin or Evans knowing he is likely to get the PI call.

Brady threw a lot of deep balls this year. And they played some bad defenses too. A bad defense is more likely to commit a DPI because they let the receiver get ahead of them and will risk a penalty to avoid the big play or just don't know how to defend the ball right. That probably accounts for a lot of that.

The Bucs got the benefit of a couple questionable pass interference calls in the Super Bowl. I didn't see all the Bucs' games, but the ones I saw, I didn't see a lot of bad calls.

I am huge Brady and Pats fan, from Boston, but is there any legitimate complaint here? 27 PI for Brady. Second closest in NFL accord to these clowns on CHiefs Planet was the Steelers with 19. Mahomes got 4, again just according to these guys I have no articles or anything

And supposedly only like one other QB has had as many as 20 in like a decade.

Is there something about how intelligent Brady is that he throws people into PI? I am being sincere just curious what smart football fans (i'm a hack) think.

Pats fan huh?

Who Dat is a New Orleans Saints chant. Youre sore about how the season went down and Tampa winning. Its understandable.

I wonder Who Dat be 3rd in 2020 Defensive Holding penalties? Why dat be da your neighbors drafting 31st da KC Chiefs.

Finally found the individual stats. Yeah the Bucs had 30 DPI calls in their favor for the entire year, including post season.

Chiefs had 4, Saints had 9.

Definitely seems one sided, but the Bucs have big WRs that make contested catches like Evans and Godwin.

Most deep passes for the Chiefs are to burners like Hill and Hardman, so maybe that has something to do with it.
Remember there were times when they probably could have called 15 in a single game against whoever was defending Gonk in his prime and they never called any. It was basically an situation where he is too big and too strong so tough. Then it turned into calling PI against Gronk.

Good call. This exact thread exists on the Saints forum and Chiefsplanet too. I guess it is all they have to cry about rather than admit their teams got beat by the GOAT.

I mean imagine being a Saints fan and you have the divisional round at home against your division opponent whom you owned all season and Drew gags the game away with his worst performance of the season and all you can do is post about Tampa's PI calls during the season? LOL

The bronze medal for 2020 Pass Interference goes to... the Kansas City Chiefs.

Accepting this award is Brittany Mathews who is taking a break from creating a 5hitstorm of drama on Facebook. Defensive Pass Interference - 2020 - View by Teams

Yeah those were frustrating times. No Wr/TE has played through that abuse in the modern Era of football.

Kelce would go home crying every night if he received the Prime Gronk treatment.

Kansas City has nothing to whine about.

The Browns got screwed. Sorensen hit Rashad Higgins helmet to helmet causing the fumble out of the endzone. No call.

That's all they do anytime they lose. Whine about the refs or say the game is rigged. Must be a very depressing existence as a fan.

I wondered if they where complaining last year in the super bowl when they where holding the 49ers left and right. They have to be the team that holds the most in the league because they stink in pass coverage. It’s about time they got called for it. Be disciplined.

NFLN replayed the 2018 AFCCG leading up to the Super Bowl and I caught the 4th quarter and OT. Even knowing the outcome of the game, I still had a reaction to the disparity in the officiating. Patriots receivers were held or interfered with regularly by the KC defenders without being penalized. Meanwhile, JC Jackson was flagged 3 times in one quarter for playing the same way as the KC cornerbacks.

His inability to get open is the most surprising shortcoming in Harry’s game, as iirc that was the single most important criteria for Belichick when it came to drafting WR’s, according to Holley’s book War Room. At this point I think the best way to salvage Harry’s career would be to make a move TE similar to the role Hernandez had, without the serial killer aspect of it.

This is the most disappointing aspect of the NFL on the whole. No one credits the winner’s for beating their team, every fan base just cries and *****es, it’s one of the reasons I have become more of a hockey fan than a football fan.

I wonder if KC had a good number of them thrown that weren't accepted because they made first downs or scored on the plays anyway? I also wonder if Chiefs receivers were held and those were called before pass interference had a chance to be called?

I think this is the best and most likely reason for this disparity, plenty of holding calls against Hill, Kelce, and Hardeman that get rejected after Mahoney gets the ball to them for bigger yards than the call would get them.

Go ***** on the Bucs forum about this. He isnt the Patriots QB anymore.
If anyone would ever listen to me to open a "Little Steven forum," we wouldn't have all these non Patriot threads.

Everyone would be on there talking about the Pats future mini goat HC.

That’s mosslost, brotha.

Not that complicated - Evans, Godwin, and Gronk are more 50/50 ball guys than separation guys. So Brady took advantage of that. The Bucs also throw more deep passes than anyone.

Seems like it turned out Bill's most important cirteria was what colleges coaches who were also his friends told him.

The Chiefs fans are as bad as Ravens and Steelers fans. After the Honeybadger whining they were going off saying Brady was definitely racist. I mean come on. Don't let the facts bite you in the ass that hundreds of black teammates from over the years love Brady, Antonio Brown lived in his house.

Did the Bucs get some calls they shouldn't? Sure who doesn't. That one at the end of the NFCCG shouldn't have been called by the way the refs were letting both teams play all game long. The Bucs overall however got so many calls because they went deep at epic rates with an accurate QB.

The Chiefs fans should rewatch the 2018 AFCCG when every PI call went against the Pats and they didn't call any against the Chiefs including the blatant OPI on the pick play.

Have fun crying all off season.

I mean when one of the biggest a-hole fan bases loses the Super Bowl, what do you expect them to do the next 7 months? Behave graciously?

It has been wonderful watching them choke on their humble pie. They keep saying once Mahomes gets a better Oline to watch out. So I guess Superman does need help after all? How about that?
