Time for a New Offensive Coordinator

Yeah I think you're a reasonable person. I'm dealing in fact. We were fortunate O'Brien developed Gronk and Edelman. Our 2TE offense created a ton of mismatches and with Revis+ Gilmore and an elite secondary, Brady got 3 more rings. Part of the zero talent here now is due to the coordinator. We need a guy who doesn't just call plays when he has HOF talent. We need a new guy who can develop players. The guy here does not develop any talent. An OC has to do way more than just call plays off a plastic sheet to be a good OC.

.

.
Are you actually trying to argue that the reason they got 3 more rings was because of the HOF caliber offensive talent Brady was surrounded by, while simultaneously arguing that MacDaniels couldn’t coach up offensive talent? And nothing says success more than Bill O Brien.

I'm really hoping McDaniels can show the world what he can do without Tom Brady in Philadelphia. I hope he gets it. 4th time's a charm after failing all 3 times without Brady (Denver, St Louis, NE'20). I'm rooting for Josh to get his opportunity.

.

I hope Bill names one of kids as OC. the team is not going to be good next year so might as well have some comedy value..."in keeping with our commitment to social justice and equality, we are pleased to announce Amanda Belichick as our offensive coordinator"

Staley as Chargers HC. Daboll and EricB penalized for winning in playoffs

I don't get the irrational hate for McDaniels. I have a friend like that. He blames McDaniels if it rains on any given day.

One thing that I really don't understand is how people blame McDaniels for draft picks. McDaniels doesn't select the draft picks. I know McDaniels haters want to blame him for picking every bust offensive player, but makes the calls on personnel and the scouts do the scouting. McDaniels may do some scouting himself on certain players, but these are the players already selected by the scouts as top draft targets for the Pats and McDaniels is giving his input on whether he agrees with the scouts' assessment. He isn't going out there forming his own draft lists.

When he did shop for the groceries himself in Denver, he did draft Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker who were both solid WR draft picks. So he probably knows how to draft WRs better than Belichick.

McDaniels very good making game plans. He usually knows how to exploit opposing defenses and throwing them off balance. He generally makes good adjustments too. He can get too cutesy with his play calling at times, but a lot of OCs do.

I think he has been a better OC than either Charlie Weis or Bill O'Brien were with the Patriots. Is he the best OC in the NFL? Probably not. Is he the worst? Not even close.

Problem was, they both took off after McDaniels left and Manning entered. Decker was a guy I wanted the Pats to draft.

They coached in different eras, but I liked Charlie the best as made the most out of what he had. McDainiels is easy to pick since he's been here the longest.

Where have you seen this?
His interview has run super late and he got strong recommendations from both the Colts and BB. Personal source. Not a done deal, but looks very promising.

Could happen but I think they still hire Someone else.
But Eagles will drag this out past the Super Bowl cause they can.
How could they not go Daboll.

didn’t the eagles say they were going to interview around a dozen candidates?

At this point it's probably best for Daboll to stay in Buffalo. Wait for a good opportunity next year. Philly has to cut $60M in cap space. Let McDaniels take this one as he deserves it.

Who would be the new OC?
O’Shea
Waldron
Kafka
Gase

What an odd comment. If Higgins hadn't fumbled at the goal line that TD would have won the game. Doesn't matter. I hope McDaniels gets the Eagles job. Chad O'Shea is now available for OC of NE.

Browns had a chance because Mahomes was out. If they ran the ball they'd have scored and kept Chiefs' offense on the bench.

Chiefs were just too good. Next week should be really fun to watch.
