OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Factors in the debacle:
Head coach had them unprepared and had no Plan B, C or D. Can't stand the pretentious moron.
Bowels is all blitz and no holistic coverage, etc. Drop the zone and if one CB is exploited, that's why FS was invented. One trick blitz pony.
Leftwich cannot adjust. Stubborn insistence on deep plays. No WR bunches, etc. At least TRY to run one or even 2 series.
OL was putrid.
Tom had a bad game.

Putting on myTommy Boy Homer face, remember the time we destroyed division rival Jets 45-3 in December 2010? I was there.
What happened when we met the division rival Jete in January game one of post season?

I apologize to certain Patsfans for dredging up that memory.

Because the Bucs playbook is very limited. Just like the Steelers. That is why we were always successful against the Steelers. Great coaching beats great talent.
Most of the time great talent beats great talent and coaches aren't really much of a factor.

Andy Reid, Sean McVay, Doug Pederson, Dan Quinn, Gary Kubiak, John Fox, Mike McCarthy, Mike Tomlin, Lovie Smith, Jim Caldwell, Ken Whisenhunt, Bill Callahan, Jon Gruden, Jeff Fisher, **** Vermeil, Dan Reeves, Tuna Crap and Mike Holmgren all won conference titles and some won SBs. A couple of them even beat Brady and Belichick.

From what I saw Brady held on to the ball and looked to throw it to AB or deep. He had guys open underneath that he ignored.
It seems to me that this has been the issue for Brady as he's gotten older. His physical skills haven't declined as much as his mental skills. He doesn't see the open man as often as he should and has turned into an immobile Aaron Rodgers.

The saints have looked their best in the two games against the bucs. It’s amazing how the Bucs where so flat in that game. Biggest game of the season and they looked so lethargic. The saints are not as great as the game last night. It’s more like the Bucs are so damn pathetic.

Just make the playoffs and see what happens

Its pretty much curtains if TB meet NO in the playoffs. Just major ownage. Only way they stand a chance is if NO gets knocked out by someone else ala Jaguars, when they beat Denver for us in 97. Those coaches and Brady were inept vs the stunts, delayed blitzes and aggressive front. Lousy adjustments and no answers.

How’s the playoff format different this year? I mean you have one team with a bye. Is that the only difference and off course you have the second team that could have gotten a bye playing the extra wildcard team in the wildcard game.

Just like the Pats.

Newton has 2 passing TDs with 7 INTs and 6 rushing TDs with 2 Fumbles.
Lamar throws better but fumbles more.

The Saints didn't even look particularly good in the first game. The Bucs offense threw that one away.

Yesterday on the other hand they were just slicing through them on offense and completely taking them apart on defense. This was the first really dominant game the Saints had this season.

Looks like a team that just ****ted on themselves badly. That falls on the coaches and on the players. 9 games in and tampa hasn’t showed you any consistency on both sides of the football. That’s troubling. I still feel arians and toilet bowles are a joke coaching wise.

Brady now down 2 in the TD race. I'm sure he'll get it back

Hang in there. It won't be long until the NYFL goes to 8 playoff teams with 2 byes on their way to 12 playoff teams with 4 byes.

Toilet Bowles is trash as a dc. Lay off the cover 3. Frankly the saints have their number. Like you said it was a disappointing game. Didn’t live up to expectations. Frankly if you’re the Bucs now you wanna finish strong and see consistency on both sides of the football. 9 games in and no consistency on offense and defense. If that doesn’t change in the next 7 games they’re gonna be a one and done in the playoffs.

Brady didn't have the game of his life by any means but he was far from the reason they lost. The more and more I watch Arians the worse and worse I think he is. He is an old blowhard that doesn't seem to adjust or try and switch anything up while getting his teeth kicked in. He basically said after the game that he gave up

“The second half, we got the turnover and we don’t score the touchdown,” said Arians. “I thought that was the end of it right then and there. You have to give New Orleans credit; they kicked our ass in every phase.”

Him and his coordinators looked clueless. Leftwich is not a good play caller and Bowles seemed content to play soft coverage no matter how much Brees was shredding them. Arians is one of those "do what we do" guys and it looks like Payton knows what Arians will do and Arians just rolls over. I am waiting for him to point the finger at someone else as he seems prone to do at some point.

I missed the game but thank God Brees recaptured the TD lead because that matters a whole bunch.

This is what Brady wanted. He was told by one of his former college teammates that Arians is a "brilliant" offensive mind. At the end of the day Brady made the decision to go to Tampa. Really, in my view, there's nothing good that can come out of playing for Tampa short of winning a super bowl. His own legacy is taking a hit.

There is actually a chance they don't even make the playoffs.. Could you imagine that? It would take Chicago winning 1 more game than Tampa the rest of the season and the Cardinals and Rams going 5-2. Rams and Cardinals looking at their schedule could easily do that. Chicago could win every game left and lose twice to GB and be 10-6 and Tampa could lose 3 of their remaining games, which I could totally see, I could see them losing their 3 or 4 the rest of the season.

I 100% think Tampa is losing to the Rams and Chiefs. Those DLs will get after Brady and they got offenses that can shred Bowles defense. Which for arguments sake that does happen they gotta win all their other games but I could also see them dropping 2 other games

Carolina and Minnesota are games people think Tampa will stroll yet they have a way that you can nullify Brady even if he's on. Panthers and Vikings have good running games with the 2 best RBs (IMO) in the league with McCaffery and Cook.

correct only the 1 seed has the bye. On wild card weekend 2 plays 7, 3 plays 6, 4 plays 5, and the final 4 (3 winners and team with the bye) resume like typical divisional round onward.

If Bruce Arians was coaching the Jaguars Brady would not have gone there. Brady went there because Mike Evans, OJ Howard, Chris Godwin, Cameron Brate and a solid offensive line were all in place. I know you like to fault Brady for absolutely everything but Brady didn't choose Tampa for Arians. Arians just so happened to be there.
