He was on a 5k pace after the Week 11 Philly game.

After that game he became somewhat human.

Compare Games 1-11 per game and 12-16 and include the playoffs. Teams had caught up to them.
Yes, teams did close the gap significantly. That Baltimore game was essentially a loss... thankful for the ill-advised timeout!

It's somewhat surprising that Brady didn't eclipse 5k yards in 2007.

It makes sense...

Passing yardage is often the product of either a crappy defense or compensating for your own turnovers. Peyton Manning's passing yardage record (and TD record) had the perfect storm, with the Broncos often starting slow and getting behind, then having to play all 60 minutes of aggressive two minute stuff. And if you look at Brees's 5K seasons, you'll see a lot of the same thing...bad defense, sometimes a lot of interceptions too, whereas Brees's yardage is way down now that the team is better and the offense is more efficient.

The 2007 Patriots were basically through with their passing offense after the first drive of the second half.

I heard last night that the Giants DC was the Miami DC last year. Not sure if that is true but they had a very good game plan vs Brady. But really the Tampa plan was awful. Very simple and predictable. The first down runs were awful. I assume they took for granted the Giants 1-6 record. The got a rock fight.

Patrick Graham was with the Patriots for years. But that's not what stymied the Bucs. What got them was Arians' insistence on long routes, and really lazy play from the WRs. Multiple times they showed WRs giving up on their routes and just standing still.

Funny tidbit from last night- on the last drive in the 4th quarter, when Gronk caught that 18 yard pass over the middle for a first down, Steve Levy announced: “Complete to Gronk!! First down New England!!”
I think he made that mistake twice last night. Lol

BHAHAHAHAHAHA! Honest mistake when you've seen that happen so often in new england.

He said it more than once. Understandable.

How about Gilmore for the Bucs 1st round pick? Make it happen! Both teams would be better off.
