At least we can all relax a bit secure in the knowledge that Bill has this figured out.

Competed hard? What game was he watching?! Will the real Bill please stand up?! What is going on?!?!

Soo now he isn't arguably the greatest coach in NFL history or top 5 all time? I mean.. do we all realize great players have great coaches..great coaches have great players and great teams have both?
Belichick is one of if not the greatest coach in NFL history, that’s a stone cold fact that isn’t disputable.

His team building on the other hand well- maybe not so GOAT like.

Belichick has been a head coach without Brady for 7 seasons, this is his 8th. He missed the playoffs for all but one year, and has a record of 56 wins and 65 losses, on his way to missing the playoffs for the 7th time in 8 years without Brady. 5 losing seasons, very likely 6 after this year.

Belichick has been a head coach with Brady as a starter for 18 years. Made the playoffs 17 times, 9-7 record the one year they didn't, 9 SB appearances, 6 wins, a record of 218 wins and 62 losses.

The proof is absolutely in the pudding. He's a really good coach. Brady is the GOAT. Give Brady anything but trash and you have an instant contender. The Pats were in it every single year since day 1 after he became the starter.
A coach needs a good QB to win. There is nothing new there. Bill walsh didnt win with a scrub at QB or jimmy johnson or Chuck knoll.

The team is already in a rebuild. They lost their starting NT and 3 of their top 4 LB to Free Agency. They then lost their best LB and starting safety to COVID. Throw in Cannon, Karras and the greatest player in league history in Brady and it is not surprising they are struggling. They tried going for it last year when they signed AB and went after Sanu but both backfired and they found themselves with limited talent and a a major cap problem. Rather than prolong it BB decided to deal with it all at once and unfortunately this is the result. I was optimistic that if everything fell into place they could potentially be a 9-7/10-6 type team and win the division but I vastly overrated Cam. Goal for rest of year is to see who should be around for the long term and put themselves in even better cap shape they are already in to make some big moves in 2021.

Since starting 8-0 last year the Patriots are 6-9. And I don't think they're even "that" good. In that time period then won exactly ONE road game. This team is in disarray and has lost 6 of the last 8 games they've played. This is Pete Carroll era futility.

Those of us who laid the blame on Belichick for last season have been proven correct, unsurprisingly. Brady was never in any decline, that was a lie to cover for the horrible personnel Bill thrust upon him. It's pretty embarrassing to see how wretched our QBs are while simultaneously watching Brady working on building a case for MVP at age 43.

Not only that Belichick's defense looked AWFUL.

You'd look awful too if you'd spent 18 of 23 game minutes on the field in the first half because you're QB put up a S**T show that makes Jetes QBs look good.

Certainly not the end of the World. A lot of people picked 8-8 so why are you surprised? Maybe got your hopes up a little more than you should of after a surpising start?

I know it’s been beat like a dead horse but here it is again. This team had an amazing run. 6 championships 17 or 18 division titles. All in the span of 20 years. Some of you know nothing but winning as a fan. It’s not how it’s suppose to be, but they defied the norm.

Not going to rule out a winning season but math and history equates 2-4 to almost undoable. There is nothing wrong with a rebuild, Brady BB and the system were able to quietly do that over the last 20 without big notice. A franchise qb will do that for you.

Cam has shown bad QB play and decisions ever since he went out with Covid. Almost like he lost his confidences and mojo, he really showed promise and upside before that. Hopefully he can find his magic before he gets benched for good.

A lot of talk about BB’s drafts over the last 5 years and I think they are justified bad at the offensive skill positions. Even more so now that Brady is gone. Primarily WR and TE. Don’t think we can go a day without soneone in the forum bringing it up. But yeah, regardless of your opinion, you would hope some change was made in at least the scouting department.

Really good post and fair points all across the board. The qb is the biggest question mark, which Cam do we have ,the one we saw for the 1st three games or the last two?
I think they give him one more game before pulling the plug. Or putting him on IR.

The problem we’re seeing now is with BB the GM. Too many misses on the offensive side of the football in these recent drafts and it’s rearing it’s head. Besides QB, WR has to be addressed either through draft or trade; our current group hasn’t cut it for a year and a half now.

Nothing suggest we are beating buffalo next week even though they stunk against the green beans. We shall see but the lack of talent is showing and cam isn’t good enough to hide that.

you just said it, they almost lost to the awful jets. Weve looked horrible the last 2 weeks, but this team looked pretty promising the 4 games before. Hopefully we get back to playing good football and if we do, buffalo is a very beatable team. In this league and with this head coach nothing like beating the bills is out of the realm of possibility.

Yes. I would agree on the offensive side of things he leaves a lot to be desired..but I am not trying to jump ship or starting the espn hot takes...

Should we trade BB for a few first rounders when we can get them ? Or is there any other solution you have ?
Honestly if we could get a few first rounders I kinda doubt Bill sticks around more than 5 more years. It might be time to get a few years early than late

What happened to the team that came within a yard of beating Seattle in Seattle is what I want to know?

He's a good coach but Brady allowed him to create a system that worked. Without Brady, he probably doesn't win the first superbowl. Belichick just doesn't currently have the answer to this puzzle. He might never figure out for this season.
