OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

That Bucs team is not good. It should be better with all that talent. Undisciplined. Poor coaching. Injuries. I expect them to get smoked by Green Bay.
I agree except the part about them getting smoked by GB. That game, if the Bucs receivers get healthier, will be a shootout that ends with a close score either way. The Bucs are not a terrible team, but that could be sooo much better if they were better coached and weren't walking wounded.

I've said this before but I think when you're talking about the two "best" at what they do of all time, it's going to be difficult for them to have that success without the other. Look at us the other night, if we had Tom against the Chiefs, I think nobody would argue that we win that game. Then again, look at last night, if the Bucs had Bill coaching them, there is no doubt that the Bucs are winning that game. All I am saying is they made such a great duo together that I think they both need each other to get to that "promised land".

Hoping I'm wrong with Cam though lol

#1 team in the NFL in penalties = Bucs

#32 ranked = Patriots

BB only won because of Brady...

at 5 games in things I have learned so far:

1. Brady is still a very good QB and can still throw the ball and perform when given receivers other than edelman. While he isnt prime brady, he is performing better so far than the last 2 years which kind of backs up the notion that his performance was due to his receivers.

2. Gronkowski is done and probably shouldve stayed retired. He is on pace to have a worse season than 2018 and cant move. I dont see that improving much over the rest of the season.

3. Coaching/Bruce arians will be the downfall of this team. they are the THIRD most penalized team in the league which does not bode well for success if that doesnt improve. They are very undisciplined as shown by last night when after a promising drive in field goal range ended up with a 3rd and 30 because of all the penalties.

4. I still am concerned about the offensive line. They are graded highly because brady has a knack for getting rid of the ball quick or throwing it away. But he is taking too many shots as a 43 year old QB

I think if they had Cam or Stidham, or even Stidham immediately after halftime they would have beaten the Chiefs the other night.

I just don't understand how it isn't obvious that the two men made each other better. I don't get why there is this insatiable and insufferable need for a dichotomy here. They were undeniably better together over the dynastic run than they would have been apart. Period. The marriage wasn't working anymore and they split. Whatever happens now is just what happens. End.

FIFY

And I agree

Very well said!!!

Remember how Aaron Donald turtled in the SB when we played them. He just didn't know who was going to block him, how many, and from where, and it kept him off balance and made him cautious.

Plus, Joe Thuney neutralized him one on one. At times, Donald was mauled. Besides being smart, Thuney may have the best hands and feet of any OL in the game.

Agreed. Pretty obvious to anyone other than the folks who clearly had/have an agenda against Brady.

2. Gronkowski is done and probably shouldve stayed retired. He is on pace to have a worse season than 2018 and cant move. I dont see that improving much over the rest of the season.
Agreed. I was saying he should retire before he announces his retirement and was saying he should stay retired before he announced his return. I bet he's hating himself every time he suits up.

I never thought Arians was a great coach, but I didn't know he was this bad until this season. I really wish Brady would have been able to go to the Saints.

4. I still am concerned about the offensive line. They are graded highly because brady has a knack for getting rid of the ball quick or throwing it away. But he is taking too many shots as a 43 year old QB
Aside from coaching, this will be the next biggest downfall for this team. Their LT is particularly awful and I fear for Brady the same way I did when Newhouse was his LT.

If he’s telling his teammates to pick up the play there’s nothing wrong there absolutely nothing. Now if he’s saying stuff like you suck or things to that nature that’s different
If you're a rookie like Wirfs dealing with a player like Khalil Mack throwing you around like a rag doll being screamed at by Brady do you say to yourself 'he's right, I need to pick up my play, what leadership' or do you think to yourself 'boomer needs to stfu'?

If one of the other team leaders screamed at Brady after he forgot it was fourth down there's nothing wrong with that?

You're wasting your time with that poster. He wouldn't even be in this thread had Tom and the Bucs won the game.
You are wrong and the proof is obvious, I was in this thread after TB beat CAR.

You just aren't open to any criticism of "Tom and the Bucs" so you go with personal attacks such as attacking my motivations rather than showing what I'm saying is wrong.
Khalil Mack abused that OL last night. A guy like that Belichick usually has had a plan to negate or minimize.

Arians has no plan. Just 5 OL and maybe a TE and dropback and chuck it.
Maybe Tom should have been yelling at Bruce instead.
Arians ****ty vertical offense doesn't help -- especially in the 2min situation they were in at the end -- but with like 39 seconds left you gotta take the easier throw for a first down instead of banging a low percentage throw down the seam:

Especially if you only need like another 15 yards for a fg after.
TB12 said he was thinking chunk plays not first downs, which is another way of saying he forgot it was fourth down.
Yea, its really sad and pathetic to watch people come to troll on Brady after what he has done for this region over 20 years

Pretty disgusting in my opinion
You are entitled to that opinion, no matter how wrong it is.

IMO it's absurd to suggest that TB12 shouldn't be criticized for his play today because of what he did in the past.

The man signed a $25M contract to start all over again, criticism is part of the job.

Does Gronk get a free pass too?

Maybe Welker and Moss should come out of retirement for the big bucks, no criticism deals available in Tampa.

i agree criticism is fine, there is nothing wrong with calling out things that aren't going well... but i feel like a lot of people here aren't doing that, they are just getting their rocks off on his failures and then coming to this thread to rub it in, knowing it will upset people

Yea admittedly Brady has never been a graceful loser.. but was it Lombardi who said "Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser"

Definitely not a good look tho

You're right he hasn't. I think you can not be happy about losing and still be a good sport in general though.

It's almost like he has a personal problem with Foles in particular and I can't even begin to imagine why.

Then point out where their posts are wrong, instead of just throwing the word "troll" around.

Sure, personal attack.

Sure, personal attack.
Clearly you're showing you're not willing to refute anything I'm saying and instead you're attacking my motivations.

That's known as a personal attack, you're attacking me as a person, not my opinion.

Go ahead, I just wrote a long post with five points, have at it, or admit you have nothing.
