But as losses go that was about as good as you can get. Cam and Edelman put the team on their backs and the defense made a stop when it had to. Byrd showed up and Harry even made a play or two which we desperately needed since the running backs were horrific tonight. All in all going on the road with a new QB and largely new offense and all the opt outs against a very good team this was a hell of a game. I honestly wasn’t sure if this team could put up 30+ but they were on the doorstep of 37. We just need to figure out a kicker.

Feels good on the offense.... don’t know what to make of the defense. I hope they’re better than that next time.

It always sucks to lose a game you should win, but it’s a marathon, not a sprint. They need to reduce the number of hits Cam and JE take and get some chemistry with the youngsters. Gunner will be back. This is going to be a damn good football team in December.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they trade for a high-level DL or LB. Getting Allen healthy and Uche on the field will help a lot. Uche is going to be a special player when he’s mentally ready.

That one of the toughest matchups you can get. Even with no fans.

Seattle is a cross country trip. And we have a QB learning an entirely new system, and yet we were a yard from winning the game.

It definitely isn’t perfect. But I like how this team looks.

Pat's showed some balls. Maybe Skippy McDaniels will open up the offense a bit after tonight. THIS Pats team SHOULD be 3-2 going into their bye week based on these first 2 games. 3-2 is a decent spot...if you're 3-2, 1 game over .500 the rest of the way gives you a decent **** at the playoffs and 2 games over almost assures you a berth

Edelman needs to get healthy. He is 34 and beat up but we need him more than ever. Outside of Bentley(slugish) I like the potential of our D in the long run. Harry is getting better but he needs to show better in yac.

I can’t say anything about the defense, yeah Wilson threw 5 TD’s, but 3 of those were perfect drop in the bucket bombs where the coverage was EXCELLENT the throw, or in the case of that kicked the pylon twisting the feet in bounds, the catch were just a hair better. I was very encouraged by the whole team’s performance. They still play like the Patriots I have grown accustomed to watching It’s just the look and style that has changed due to personnel .

That’s true too. Feels like they were pushed around a bit though which is more disconcerting to see. Too many yards after contact creating short 2nd down situations.

Loved how the offense gutted it out. Almost stole one tonight.

Defense was a mixed bag. Can’t really fault anyone on the Metcalf tds. They were perfect. The tackling was good but the reaction time to get to the tackle was awful.

But yeah, its easy enough to take this loss in stride knowing they are a team in transition which may get even better as the season progresses.

Tonight was the best I had seen Edelman in a long time.

Gilmore only gave up 2 catches all game to Metcalf.

I think they may have stopped 1 or 2 drives thanks to penalties. That's it. Not sure how the TDs being perfect throws changes the fact they got pushed around on nearly every single play. The new look front 7 is gonna need some time.

It’s worth keeping in mind the other guys get paid too. I can deal with a perfect throw beating perfect coverage because that’s what the NFL is now a days. Most QBs can not consistently make perfect throws and, so as long as its close, that means the defense is doing the best it can. Even Wilson on a normal night might get 1 of those 3 throws to fall that perfect, he was just on fire and everything went right tonight. Thats why the pass defense does not concern me they made 95% of the throws really tough and had to be perfect. Now the front 7 did get pushed around a bit much for my tastes but we knew going into the season that’s not where the strength of the D was going to be. I thought all things considered they got decent, not great, pressure on Wilson And didn’t get completely run over which is all one can reasonably expect with the lack of talent IMO. Have to remember this team had 34 million in dead money plus 3 starters opt out. They are another year maybe two away from being a SB favorite and rebuilding the front 7 while keeping the secondary would be priority 1
