There is no evidence of any kind that “Belichick ran Brady out. Brady left by 100% his own choice.
Semantics. You can voluntary quit a job because you can’t handle working for somebody

He did run him out, but I can't say I blame him. Brady was about to turn 43 and hadn't played well since 2017. Not only that it's clear that BB wasn't happy trading Garroppolo...he lost out on a franchise QB because his then current QB wanted to defy biology and play until 45. Bill probably thinks this TB12 stuff is crap and was most likely pissed that Brady wanted to showcase this methodology under his watch.

I can’t wait till the tell all book between BB & Brady is written. Would be the first book I’ve read in 10 plus years.

Edit - Nevermind this link is from a book.

Sad that Brady would throw stones at the team and BB now. Brady knew this stuff would get out in the public.

He could have waited until retirement, but noooo, why waste anytime casting himself as a victim in the white hat. Next book will be Gronks untold tale about his life of hell in New England. Even the ocean at Hampton beach is cold like Belichick.

« ran Brady out »
That just screams out Brady apologist. « Swallowing his pride »
Same. He is beloved by fans, teammates, media... BB feels like treating all players similarly is a way to build a team and encourage UFAs to choose NE. It works.

I’m better and more experienced than some of my colleagues. I don’t need to « swallow my pride ». I go to work within the bargaining agreement, get paid, and work.

Brady benefitted greatly from the very system many seem to loath.

One can argue that this very system works because of Brady performance. This system only with Brady m. It was not working in Cleveland and it was definitely not working with Bledsoe. We will see if it is working in the future. Unfortunately my two cent is that it will not

Except it wasn't "can't handle working for somebody" but "can't handle working in within this culture". The issue weren't between BB and Brady but between the culture set in place by BB and Brady and that is a gigantic difference.

As soon as Brady was burned out on being coached as hard as anyone else it was effectively over and he needed to move on. There was no happiness here for him anymore and winning or losing wouldn't have made a difference. Like he said before the Ravens game.. "I am the most miserable undefeated QB in the league".

Surprised he didn't have enough after Billy's botch job in the 2017 Super Bowl. Brady goes off for 500+ yards yet was backed up by the worst defensive game plan (including the inexcusable benching of Malcom Butler). And it's not like the D was terrible going into that game.

I understand why Tom felt the way he felt... but at the same time, the reason why the team has been so successful for so long is specifically because no one is above the team and everyone is treated the same.

Maybe it was indeed time to part ways.

When you're a leader, it's not important that you treat everyone equally. That's often impossible. What's important is that you treat everyone fairly. Belichick understood that, going all the way back to Bavaro.

Tampa Bay @ New England. Coming to a stadium near you in 2021.

Watch Fox try to hijack that game preventing it from going to prime time.

That except about Gisele whining to Kraft tells me all I know. He changed after her and she drove him mentally out of town. She is the Yoko in this whole situation.

Apparently most of the quotes and access for this story is coming from the Kraft side.

If I were Tom I would have been pissed at my coach for throwing that defense out there on a night when I set Super Bowl records for passing and offense never mind anything to do with AG.

Thread title needs an adjustment. 28-3 says "Hi!"

Again this is semantics to absolve Bill’s role on this. Bill has 100% control of the culture and he is 100% free to be flexible and adapt it. It’s not some autonomous thing that exists outside of him. It is him. If he left and everyone stayed but they got a new HC, the culture would be different. It’s like leaving a company because you have an issue with the manager and then being told “no you just weren’t a good fit for the culture”. No it’s the person setting the standard and dealing with the personal relationship.

Bill was free to make his QB an exception. He was free to let up on him when he knew it was getting to Brady. He choose to be rigid. The dispute was between Belichick and Brady. Not Brady and the Patriots.

He left because he was sick of Bill and Bill refusing to show some leeway to a vet who had been there the whole way

Still sad he is gone but will always be grateful for all the joy he provided to our football fandom. There will never be a player like TB again and to some of you I say there is nothing wrong with rooting for both BB(with our Patriots of course) and TB(as long as he ain't playing against us) ;)

I would hope I’m not the same person at 44 that I was at 24. In Brady’s case, Gisele isn’t the cause of it, she’s a symptom of it.

Brady had to discuss continuing playing football with her instead of retiring. A logical question from her end would be, “why do you keep on wanting to play if they won’t let you do what they want — use your trainer, market your product. Why would you ignore what I want, and go do something that still makes you unhappy?” And that’s probably something he was thinking about the whole time, he just needed to hear someone else pose it to him in the right way. He played the good soldier 15-20 years ago and didn’t care about that stuff then, but did now and had refused to admit it to himself. Who knows? All we do know is that people change over time, people’s priorities change over time, and Tom Brady is now a Tampa Bay Buccaneer. It was awesome while it lasted.

So Brady did not want to leave NE because BB made him feel bad?

Also, Bradys witch doctor was interfering with the Patriots training staff. Players were confused regarding whose advice were they supposed to follow. There can be only 1 General.

Considering it will be the most highly anticipated regular season game of the year, it goes without saying that every network will try to claim it. CBS and ESPN don't really have a prayer. Fox certainly has a shot, but my money says it'll be an early-November Sunday Night NBC game.
