Can a healthy Cam Newton-led offense + the elite Pats secondary win 10 games against:

Jets x2
Dolphins x2
Bills x2
@ Seahawks
Raiders
@ Chiefs
Broncos
49ers
Ravens
@ Texans
Cardinals
@ Chargers
@ Rams

The Preseason game on August 20th between the Panthers and the Patriots will certainly be a little more fun to watch now

If he’s healthy and if they didn’t get rid of Thuney to make room on the cap for Cam then I think the offense definitely has potential. The thought of having a dual threat QB is pretty sweet. They can lose the tough games against the Chiefs, Ravens etc and still get to 10 wins.
I don’t think newton is much of a dual threat anymore. That’s why he signed for according to rapaport a BARE MINIMUM DEAL.
He doesn’t want to run any more and if he can’t run he can’t be effective.

If he’s healthy yeah. Health is his biggest issue. He’s not as good when banged up. When healthy yes extremely dangerous

Cam can be Cassel or Brissett good at this point, he knows the offensive system having played in it already.

He's a better back up than Hoyer. Period.

Who's ready to see the McD version of the Ravens offense?

If Cam is motivated, he's an absolute load to bring down. Pats have a stable of talented backs, questions at wr (though athletic talent and size on paper), and young athletic TEs. Athletic line. They may not have an outside deep guy, but we all know Cam will give Harry a chance to make some ESPN highlight wheels every week, whether because of the pick or completion is the question. He's going to get JE killed. JE has operating his entire career with a guy throwing him to safety. I wouldn't blame him if he asked for a trade.

@Ian, please awared @primetime some award for this around, are you sure he is not BB?
edit @sb1 was advocating for signing Newton, his post does not read so i think based on taking just his post.
Hey this is just history in real time and it is only for fan. I hope no one uses this to insult anybody. Any of you want a redo? Cam has not made the team yet but just bringing him here is huge. It has surprised me as well as I did not see it at all. BB is incredible. Just when you think you know the man, he comes at you with logic.
All those posts show is that Ring6 is wrong again. He's constantly wrong yet pretends to be a guru. Lmao

I'll bet it's a low risk, little money deal if he's cut out of camp.

It literally has to be, as the current contract has to fit under the current cap.

I don’t like his personality. He is definitely not a Patriot’s type persona. He’s always a look at me type player, where’s the camera. Just not a fan of that kind of player. And also, since 2015, his MVP season, he’s been pretty crappy. His only 4000 yard season was his rookie season. And even during his MVP season, he pretty much choked in the SB. The following season, Carolina went from 15-1 to 6-10. Not a fan. I’ll be rooting for Stidham to beat him out.

But if healthy, if he beats out Stidham. I guess I’ll be rooting for him. I just don’t think he’s a good QB. 2015 was the last year he was good. 65 TDs and 44 INTs since then. 20 fumbles as well since 2015.

Good news: We are getting a QB with a chip on his shoulder. If Cam is our starter, maybe Bill doesn't think Stid is ready?

So is he starting or is brought in for competition?
There’s no way he’s getting paid that without the presumption that he can win the starting job. Maybe he’ll have to really earn it, but he’s currently the highest paid QB on the roster.

For now rosterbation

At worst he's Stidham's backup...no way he's losing out on a roster spot to Hoyer. In fact, I can see Hoyer getting cut.

Lets see how he does with our coaching. Just to be fair.

2018 was the second best season of his career.

Cam just doesn't strike me as a guy you bring in to be Stidham's backup. I think Hoyer serves that role better as a mentor of sorts. They must not be sold on Stidham.

I see this signing as making our defense better. They will have a good preparation to face players like Lamar, Watson, all the mobile QBs we struggle against and to a lesser extent Mahomes

best signing they could have made, if he is healthy
