I fear Josh Rosen does not possess Cat like quickness

Stidham and Hoyer are so good that competition is totally unnecessary. Either one of these two is a winner, or we glorify in a 6-10 season and hope for a better QB AND backup[ next year.
Rosen wasn't good in college, he wasn't "good" when he was supposedly good.

I give J'Mar Smith a Jacoby Brissett grade, that's his ceiling. So if you're saying Rosen or Smith, give me Smith all day... he costs nothing and hasn't been polluted by the Dolphins.

It's not that Rosen is ruined, it's that he was never that good to begin with, highly overrated prospect.

If we can grab him for at most a 4th rounder then why not. He’s young enough where he can make a turn around plus more competition for Stidham.

He threw 87 INTs in his 4 1/2 year Pat’s career (led the league in INTs one year, had 25 INTs another year). I think it was a combination of both.
He got the crap beaten out of him early on. Think he might have been a little gun shy.

Perhaps GM's and draft organizations should hire you instead of their folk.
This is true, as long as they hire someone else to do the math. I work best from home in my underwear.

yeah, I voted no but I thought his cap hit was going to be much more. At 2 mill this year and 3 next, I would give a fifth.

nobody knows what Rosen is or will be.

If we are taking a chance on an unproven qb, I would rather take a chance on a guy that has 12 plus months in our system!

Note that he has a $1.4M fully-guaranteed signing bonus due the first week of TC. And another $2.1M bonus next TC, also fully guaranteed. So basically he'd be getting more than Hoyer for the chance that he might work out.

I'm not sure that Hoyer is worth the explanation point. Rosen would compete with Stidham and likely her his backup this year and next.

Evan Lazar seems pretty high on him. What does everyone think? I think he's talented but his attitude reminds me of Jay Cutler. For me personally, I would stick with Stidham, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to bring him in to compete if it's for a low pick.

No. I like Josh Rosen, but we already have a pretty volatile situation at QB, having 2 talented QBs you aren't sure you can rely on isn't really any better than having just one.

If we did bring in someone I'd rather it be a high floor guy like Jacoby Brissett, a guy who could come in and play some steady, efficient, possession focused football. In that sense, Josh Rosen is the exact opposite of what we need

It's not like Rosen would be replacing Stid, or even Hoyer, this season...If he's acquired - on waivers or for a late Day 3 pick - it is with 2021 in mind.

We're developing Stidham with 2021 in mind.

There is no fit here. If you buy in on Rosen you're betting on Stidham to fail, and BB won't do that.

That couldn't be any further than the truth. Rosen was good in college.

Was he GREAT, no, but he certainly wasn't NOT good, he was good. He was widely recognized as a high 1st round pick by EVERYONE coming into the 2018 draft.

"Everyone" recognized his greatness because "everyone" largely consists of a bunch of baboons with degrees in journalism.

60% completion rate, double digit INT's in two of his three seasons.... you realize the NFL is harder than college, not easier... right?

Which is a pittance for a back up qb. His salary is still less than 750,000 each year so less than 5 mill for two years. I would want the pats to draft another qb next year anyway, I rather get him now. I would re-do Cannon's deal to free up the 1.5 needed to sign him.

You're right, with all the great talent he had around him, his stats should be much better, with the great Jordan Payton, Thomas Duarte & Darren Andrews. Add in the great Jordan Lasley. 59 TDs to 26 Ints isn't horrible. I'm not arguing he's great, I'm just saying he hasn't really been put in a good situation, let's see what he can do in the right situation.

!
Huh?
Each team Rosen has suited up for immediately dove back into the draft to secure their future starting QB.
Two teams already know what Rosen is: a soon to be ex NFL player
