Dolphins still Complaining....

Well watch a game then. That's the problem with most fans and the media, they just look at the stats/record or whatever but have no idea what's actully going on.

...

HELLO! The Miami offense is averaging over 20 points, that's a huge improvement from a year ago. If the defense didn't completely collapse and would've played like 2006, Miami would be 5-2 at worst right now.

Ummmm...no. That is unless you meant to say '85 Bears instead of '06 Fins.

at Washington - Offense got 273 yds / 13 points.
Dallas - Offense got 171 yds / 6 points in 1st half when it was still a game.
at Jets - Defense absolutely blew in this one. Check.
Oakland - Offense got 278 yds / 17 points.
at Houston - Offense got 285 yds / 19 points.
at Cleveland - Offense got 164 yds / 10 points in 1st half (down 27-10).
New England - Offense got 135 yds / 7 points in 1st half when it was still a game (well, not really).

So you would likely be 1-6. No excuse for the defense in the Jets game. I'll even give you the Cleveland game and bump you to 2-5 at best.

Other than than, the WAS/OAK/HOU games were winnable and the Fins' offense was less than stellar. The offense had good numbers in the DAL/NE games in the 2nd half, but were fairly pedestrian in the first half when it could have made a difference.

You are whistling past the graveyard.

When you are behind by 30, the opposing team tends to rest their regulars and play nickel for the second half.

Just a thought.

Well in 3 games the Fins were tied or had a lead at some point in the 4th quarter, so let's excuse those 3.

As for the other 4, I can honestly say the only team that has pulled starters is the Patriots.

Also, the team has KILLED themselves with penalties. I know this is a result of poor offensive performance, but the average actully doesn't do justice to the offense. The team hasn't moved the ball like they are this year in this decade. The red zone offense could certainly improve, way too often the Fins settle for field goals.

Stats aren't what I look at here. In the Washington game the defense was on the field all day because we couldn't stop the run. If our run defense was anything like it was last year, the offense would've had more posessions and put more points on the board, plus Cameron only gave Ronnie the ball 11 times.

In the Dallas game, Miami had the lead heading into the 4th quarter and then for some crazy reason abondonded the run and again the Miami run defense folded.

Thomas Jones has done nothing this year except in a game against Miami where the run defense was putrid.

In the Houston game, the defense actully played okay but couldn't get off the field in big spots. Also Cameron Worrell started at safety, he is awful.

In the Cleveland game, we gave up 41 points and looked ridiculous while the offense moved the ball extremely well.

The only game we would've lost is the New England game.

Not to mention the fact Yeremiah Bell was hurt in the first game of the year. He has a Bob Sanders type of effect on our D. (Not as significant but a similar impact.)

Pull this crap?

I just don't see it that way, it would bother me a little bit too. I can see where Chris is coming from, he's on the offense, the offense is playing well. The reason Jason didn't care was because he knows his side of the ball is absolutely horrible right now.

Aqua, I defend you on here more than most, but this is ridiculous. The Patriots DID NOT "run it up" - THEY SCORED SEVEN POINTS IN THE SECOND HALF. Shut it.

haha, the pats gave up 7 points to MIAmi...get used to taht...

u did not get 28 points, u got 21 less then taht...

cuz if brady would ahve stayed in, it takes away cassels INT, which drops u to 21...and then if we didnt take out our starters, u wouldnt have scored again...

ur offense scored a total of 7 points on the pats....ur wonderful and awesome Offense managed ONE TD, boy they are good

When did the NFL change the number of points per TD to 28? Alright, I'll give you the JT INT, but the offense still scored 21, not 7. What are you talking about?

Also, Cameron Worrell scored 21 points for the Patriots, he has to be the worst player in the NFL. The 2 Randy Moss TDs and the Stallworth TD were all because of him. I guarantee if Yeremiah Bell is out there, those scores don't happen.

I ddn't hear any complaing when the dolphins beat the pats 52 - 0

It's the fact that they went back to Brady and then had the audaucity to throw the football. Miami couldn't stop me from gaining 100 yards but Belichick had to get Brady another TD pass. He knew damn well he could've run Eckle and Evans and killed the clock.

7 points in the second half. Don't be a ****y. Your team QUIT. Be pissed at them.

Or they could have wrapped up Welker. It's not like it was a toss right into the endzone.

Can you defende the Patriots for passing the ball? Give me 1 reason you pass the ball that late in the game.

Yes, I'm being a *****.

The Dolphins are lucky the Pats didn't put up 60. They have nothing to complain about. You're getting paid millions of dollars to stop the other team. Either do your job, give your paycheck back, or shut your mouth.

That's not the point man. Yes, the defense sucks, I know that, you know that; hell, they know that. The point is Belichick should show some class and respect for his opponent and co-workers. Then again, he's never been one known to do so, well at least his players. But then again, players are just a reflection of their coach.

Did Doofins have so called "class" when Marino kept throwing TD after TD on hapless teams in 80's and 90's (including Pats teams).

Or where is the class of the '72 Dolphins teams popping champagne after every team that was going for the undeafeated year suffered their first loss, ie 85 Bears, 98 Vikes.

So, don't come here popping class mofo. Just b/c the tables are turned, you've got sour grapes. Hope next time in Dec we lite you up for 55 ! Shove that.

This is the NFL where points can be scored in bunches. They passed at the end to score and finish the game off. Simple.. why waste time with running when your run defense is decent?

Tell us again what a great impact Ted Ginn Jr. had on the game... and how much better he is than Welker!! LMAO.

Let's see the stats:

Welker 9 catches 138 yards 2 TDs 36 longest gain

vs

Ginn 3 catches 37 yards 0 TDs 15 longest gain

WOW, Surprise, surprise! Welker wins again!
ROFL!
Thanks for wasting a top 10 1st round pick on a fancy kick returner who isn't a very good receiver and giving AWAY Welker to us for a 2nd rounder!

IMPRESSIVE!!

With moves like that, I think your team has a LOT more problems than just having the Pats score an Extra TD on ya!

So if the game was so out of hand, remind me why Jason Taylor was still in the game? And running what amounted to a zone blitz?

You want Brady on the bench and the Pats to run their 3rd string RB into the line over and over again...then sit your fargin defensive starters down!

If you are unwilling to do this, you are (pick all that apply):
a) Convinced the game is still in question
b) Wanting to put a hurting on the opponent's 2nd team offense
c) Hypocritical to a near biblical proportion
d) Stupid

If the Fins took out their starting defense and the Pats kept Brady in trying to score points, there would be no defending them. That didn't happen. Case dismissed.

I wasn't alive for much of the 80's so I can't speak on most of that but my suggestion would be that those defenses the Dolphins had were so horrible, no lead was safe. Also, there was no running game to speak of for the Dolphins. The Patriots could've pounded the Dolphins and milked the clock, you know that, I know that, and the Pats and Dolphins knew that.

Popping the champagne is a tradition, I see nothing wrong with celebrating a very special aniversary each year.

That last paragraph is irrelevant and uncalled for, no comment on that.

Have you ever heard of the logical falacy of red herring?

Red herring- a red herring is a plot device intended to distract the reader from a more important event in the plot, usually a twist ending.

Learn it and apply it sir, stay on topic. If you;d like to discuss Ted Ginn make another thread and I'll be more than happy to discuss him there.

That argument is flawed. When do you see a team getting rolled sit their starters? The reason you sit your starters is because the game is in hand and the only thing playing your starters gives you is risk. The trailing team has work to do whether it's put up points and attempt a come back or work to get better for the next week. You don't bench your starters to preserve them when you're getting spanked, perhaps you bench them for lack of production, but that's generally not the case with JT.

The thing that bothers me is the fact Brady went to the bench and then came back in. Come on, what reason did they bench Brady? Because the game was in hand, bringing him back in is a slap in the face and pretty much saying we want to win by 21 and screw the opposing team.
