@BaconGrundleCandy - Love to hear your thoughts

Kinlaw would be an absolute stud in our defense. While barely decent against the run, he is a disruptive monster as a pass rusher.

Davis is exactly the 3-4 de that we need in our defense, he is a true run stopper, but offers little as a pass rusher,

Lewis Really only had 1 healthy season in college and it is easy to see him hurt early and often in the pros.

Baum strikes me a 4-3 will backer with little to offer in coverage.
However the kid from Michigan Uche or something like that is a guy that makes a lot of sense for us. He is aggressive against the run and as a pass rusher, but has a little something in coverage as well.

Based on the various reports out of the senior bowl and some videos, I would also be very happy if Kinlaw was available.

Appears Kinlaw won' be there at 23. We really have two scenarios.

1. Keep TB12 and try to help offense. Probably OL if that happens because we won't be able to keep Thuney. I'm thinking Josh Jones - T - Houston.

2. Let TB12 go, deal back and try to keep more vets like Van Noy or Collins and McCourty. Try to build an even better defense.

See, the Patriots never use this sort of thinking. It's why they drafted Harris and Williams when they did.

They'll be looking for an OT to be an understudy behind Cannon/Cajuste. They'll also be looking for a OC/OG to back-up Andrews/Mason regardless of whether Thuney stays.

They'll be looking for DE/OLB regardless of whether they bring back Van Noy/Collins.

I think they'll be looking for an additional OLB type as well. Someone who has some coverage skills.

I think that they're continuing to look for the DMac replacement. Someone who is smart and can call secondary adjustments from the Safety position.

Sorry been feeling awful past days. Really good list. Just put out a larger and most are on it. Might add to it for guys like Montez who I was borderline on. It's on point though. I wouldn't be surprised to see any of those guys get called by us.

Big Love fan. Ideally we sign Brady and he can sit for a year, maybe two.

Been on the Baun to NEP for a minute now.

Van Jefferson could be a steal. One of the best rr in the class.

JJ is yac monster

Was on the fence abt PTW and Charlie T so might add them to mine.

Love both Michigan guys.

Again list is on point.

Glad you're feeling better. Thanks for the info..

Kinlaw is the prototype d linemen for our defense. If kinlaw or Espinosa falls to number 23, we need to jump all over.

otherwise, we trade down and grab de Davis from Alabama in the second round,

We take van lenen in the sixth round and plug him in day one as a starter at left guard,

You really think a 6th round O-Line could start, day 1, in this offense?

Also, what makes you think that Thuney won't be back? or that Froholdt won't win the job? (rhetorical questions)

yes, because he has nfl strength right now,

he is not enough of an athlete to play tackle in the nfl, but at guard, he can start right away because of his strength and he has more pass protection skills than mason had coming out of college.

Here’s a mock for ya Ochmed. Trade down with Carolina. They go BPA at 7. Want a QB at 23. We get their 2nd and 3rd

2 R Davis DE Bama
3 Hunter Bryant - TE - Florida Atlantic
3 Ben Bredeson - G - Michigan
3 Van Jefferson - WR - Florida
3 Matt Peart - T - U Conn
4 trade for OJ Howard

Keep TB12, DMac and Jamie Collins.
Bring Dola back

Hate to lose em, but can’t afford Thuney and Van Noy.

Gonna have to make some tough cuts too. Gostkowski, J McCourty or a safety and maybe Burkhead if Harris is looking good

Andrews wasn’t drafted and won the starting center position as a rookie. Anything is possible.

Andrews came into our program with nfl strength but also incredible football smarts.

it took karras almost half a season before he started making correct line calls. It took Andrews one training camp.

Van lenen has nfl strength now. And I think he will be able to pick up our zone blocking scheme really quickly.

I love Davis from Alabama. Instant above average run defender. He eats blockers. and butler would replace him on passing downs,

Bryant can stretch the seams and make catches. We missed that with gronkowski retired, I do not care that Bryant can’t block because he needs to be running routes.

love the Bredeson pick. He is a beast, nfl strong and if he picks up our zone blocking scheme, he could start day 1. Pass protection needs work, though.

Jefferson is slow. 4.5 or 4.6 at best, but his route running is above average, I question his courage, in college he was not physical and it caused him to not be all that productive,

Peart is a good pick. He needs a red shirt year, but has the potential to be a future starter.

trading a 4th For Howard is a steal and a no brainer! I love the trade, but if a was a Tampa bay fan, I would feel like we came up short. Kind of like we felt after getting only a second for jimmy g,

Cinci has 33 & 65. I'd be praying they ring up Bill. Doesn't take much imagination to see them ****in up JB even though he looks like a stud now. It's Cinci.

Atl has 48/55.

Det has 35/67

I'd love for a bad team to ring up try to get a 1 for next year or the teams 2nd/3rd I laid out above.

Can't see us going almost a full round with no picks that early. If I can't get a 2021 1st Rd I'm hoping for 1/3 above.

Could see myself with around 5-10 1st Rd grades going by what I've seen from my grading process in years past. As usual my grades will be different from what's out there. I just started really looking at mocks, analysis from people. That's never been my thing, I just like to watch as much as I can. Get the player where I like him and adjust with what I like from combine/pro day #'s.

I've always been different in that regard. I don't get anything from mocks and most analysis/reports tbh. Most reports read the same and I might not value certain things or see them as the person writing it. And I don't like mocks bc I've had these prospects bouncing around in my head for years with where they might go.

Don't over think it. Find and trust your process and go with it. Every time I finish and see the results I get nervous bc usually mine are different from everything, everyone else. I like it like that. When I look back at having Gilmore Rd1, Slay Rd2, Hunter etc I remember the nervousness. It looks right now. Looks like its supposed but back then I was nervous and still get that feeling when I look at the results.

If Detroit is smart, they auction the third pick in the draft off to the highest bidder.

with burrows going first and young going second, tua is sitting there at number 3 for the highest bidder. They have Stafford, so qb is not a need. They should turn that pick into gold.

if I am Carolina, I sell the farm for tua. Let him recover for a year while newton plays the last year of his contract.

Detroit should be able to get a first and second in this draft and a first and third in next year’s draft. Plus another second in 2022.

Detroit needs defense!

Detroit can take brown of Auburn or kinlaw of sc at 7, after the Carolina trade. Then trade for the 23rd pick and get some desperately needed secondary help and still have picks leftover to fill other holes.

I agree with everything you said.

Trust your evaluation.. even if they go against the popular consensus, or sometimes not correct at all.

There's just a limited amount of videos available online for prospects, and they don't cover all the 12/13 games in a season.

Data analysis and stats are useful tools in helping to fill in those missing games gaps, as mentioned in my post below with manxman last year when discussing WR Hakeem Butler:

The draft

Still, data and stats alone are only pieces of the evaluation puzzle, along with (watching videos/combine/interviews/scheme/injuries/talent projection..etc)

Player evaluation is a convergence of all of those pieces that are then examined with context and nuance in determining draft capital.

In other words, it's an inexact science.

With your high percentage hit rate on draft prospects, you're a wizard in all of this draft madness so continue doing the grading process your way, @BaconGrundleCandy

Bolded is it in a nutshell. Couldn't have said it better. Keep posting good stuff.

So far you've been more right about Butler than me. I hope he doesn't haunt me at WR1
