It's to play fast, play physical, play strong. And at this point I don't know if I'm able to do that anymore... I still want to play but I don't think it's the right decision" -Luke Kuechly
Sounds like it's either the concussions or the series of injuries (or both). That's too bad, but I hope he's able to get away clean for the long run.
Not worth it.Force a trade before training camp welcome to NE. Sit him as long as he needs at the start of the year. This guy is too good to retire.
Agreed. He won't get GOAT consideration but he should. Arguably the best coverage backer out of all the big names.Pat Willis and now Kuechly. Historically great linebackers stepping away before they end up like Junior. Smart, and both are Hall of Famers
Kuechly was a really special player, I remember at BC when he would know where the play was going before the offense did. Didn't know if he had the physical tools to make it happen in the NFL but he sure did. Few linebackers in history were as good as Kuechly was at the top of his game. Brian Urlacher was a first ballot guy and he wasn't nearly as good as Kuechly.
Damn.
He admitted to it years later. He couldn't believe he didn't get called. Can't blame him one bit for trying when we all know the refs don't call **** in that situation. I forgot about his concussions - I hope he's ok and stay retired.Did BC proud. Except for the pi that wasn’t called vs Gronk, guy was a stud worth following even if he played for the other team.
