Not sure it saves a roster spot. If anything, it gives them a better option for a blocker than having a blocking TE on the field. I would love to see him and Develin on the field at the same time to really confuse the opposing defense as to which way the run will go..

Develin has a chronic neck injury that landed him on injured reserve this year. I wouldn't count on him ever playing again.
