Do we have proof that he can do all the things Burkhead can do? I really don’t know much about the guy. Burkhead doesn’t play that often but when he does boy does he make some big plays in big moments.
It's a head-scratcher for sure but not that Harris was drafted in the 3rd but in how the Pats have opted not to use him this year? This is a smart kid that can play. Short term it stinks, especially when we could have had Dawson Knox at TE, which was a serious position of need. Longer-term I understand this pick and fans will warm to Harris, once he gets on the field.
Today would have been a good time to give the kid 20-25 carries. In BB we trust!
Yes, I did not mean to be negative on harris more so that if we picked a tight end we may have got more out of that player......I guess hindsight is a wonderful thing. I hope he gets a chance next season
McCourty has played in 12 out of 16 games. Only in week 14 and 16 did he see limited snaps. ALL the missed time was due to injury. Ignoring that makes it sound like he's a crap player who's been benched or something.
And it's factually inaccurate to say 8 snaps in his last 7 games. You don't count games where a player is inactive.
That has always driven me crazy but as age encroaches I'd kinda like seeing that today.
Just hope Matt doesn't swat at the Brady TD bomb like he's being attacked by hornets.
Today is the last game of this decade !! It has gone by so fast and what a decade it was !
Let's finish it off strong, get a win , no injuries and get ready for another decade of dominance
LFG !!!!
Unless the player is cut during their first 2 years, it usually takes 3 years to tell if a player was a "wasted pick".
Or do you have some unrealistic idea that Harris is supposed to come in and force 3 seasoned veterans and a 2nd year player to the bench?
Harris was drafted with an eye to the future. That doesn't make him a "wasted pick" for anyone who understands that it takes time for players to develop and sometime there is a lot of good players ahead of said player. As someone else mentioned, this was a similar situation to James White.
and before his injury he played 466 snaps in 10 games, seems to me his injury was more serious than just nagging and the 2 games he was active for were big games he tried to gut it out and play, with it being against the chiefs and then against the bildos when Jones was out.
@patsinthesnow - Love how you disagree with facts. SMH.. Let me guess. In your world, Snow is purple. Grass is indigo.
Last 7 games:
Week 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17.
Hint: McCourty played in week 11 and had 51 snaps. That means saying 8 snaps in last 7 games is false. And McCourty didn't play in weeks 12, 13, 15 and 17. So you generally don't count those. So HIS last 7 games would be:
Week 6,7,8,9,11,14,16.
He saw LOTS of snaps during those games.. Far more than 8. OH. and it was 9 snaps in the last 2 games he played. 8 on Defense and 1 on Special Teams.
