Found Karras performance this season interesting. PFF grades are subjective but notice the improvement:

Weeks 1-11 (10 starts):

2 sacks
1 hit
11 hurries
3 penalties
25th ranked center (28th pass, 15th run)

Weeks 12-16 (4 starts):

0 sacks
0 hits
0 hurries
0 penalties
4th ranked center (2nd pass, 13th run)

Jeff Howe has him with clean sheets the last four games as well.

DTs faced recently include Ed Oliver, Geno Atkins & DJ Reader. He notably missed the Chiefs game where Chris Jones wrecked Ferentz.

The OL will round into form if NE can settle down the RT position and nobody gets hurt.

On Ted Karras just keeping "Thanks Dad Ferentz" on the Bench is good enough for me.

Karras looks good because Ferentz is that bad. The absence of Andrews will be felt in a tough road game. Last year the line had zero false starts in Arrowhead.

Mods, can we change the name of the thread to “Ted Karras Appreciation Thread?”

That doesn't explain Karras playing better statistically but keep on your gloom and doom schtick if that is working for you.

Karras clearly isn't as good as Andrews. And his stats could only go up from where he was.

Ted Karras is the only center we have. He is not Dave Andrews, but Dave Andrews is not walking through that door this year. With 14 games under his belt, I am glad he has gained experience, grown to become competent. I am thankful.

Who said he was as good as Andrews? His play has improved. That is a fact.

Would it kill you to have the slightest bit of optimism about the team and a player, Patsapanic?

Should lock it, let's focus on Miami please. No time to look behind us.

Everyone knows he's (not so) secretly a Chiefs fan. Or maybe he switched to Baltimore.

Karras didn't even play week 13

I’ve been pleased with Karras. He was never the second coming, but for him to come in - fight injuries - improve... it’s been one of the roughest OL stretches I can remember.

Both Karras & Wynn are making a difference. I thought Mason improved as well. Thuney’s been more than fine all year. Hope they keep it up.

It's both if you ask me. When I realized our 2 recent losses coincided with Ferentz being the starter, a lightbulb went off in my head. Karras' improvement makes the difference that much more noticeable, but Ferentz really is that bad.

Andrews >>>>>> all of the above however

Seems like Mason and karras got healthy pretty quick.. makes me optimistic what two weeks off will have for the entire team
