We are on to Kansas City...

No ****. It's Thursday and we don't have an experienced placekicker on the roster.

I bet they are waiting for Cowart to be cleared and Folk to pass the medical.

If neither happens then it very well might be Bailey for a game and someone else holding.

What a trainwreck the kicker position has been...

there’s also a book out on the Patriots pass defense, exploited by the Bills, Ravens and the Texans. Unfortunately exploiting that flaw getting LBs to pursue and speedy receivers getting YAC is right in Mahomes wheelhouse.

We’ll see what happens on Sunday but they will not be an easy out at all and I don’t really want to see them in the playoffs.

Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson had 153 yards and 163 yards, respectively, in those games. The pass defense wasn't the issue there. You can't take much from the Houston game, given the state of everybody on defense that week.

This was supposed to be a flaw of the defense last season as well, but no one was able to stop this team when it mattered.

They'll also have a difficult time getting off those passes trying to burn the LBs when Mahomes is on his ass for most of the game because his line can't protect him.

Feels like we can say that about WR, TE, and OL this year too. Basically, any position that can help us score points, we've had injuries/suspensions to everyone at intervals that make continuity impossible.

No turnovers, +50% on third down, and 100+ rushing yards really only chance they have. Bailey can't have 7 punts and expect to win. Oh, and it would help if the quarterback didn't start 7-20 w a pick...

I didn’t buy the hype that they were an all time great defense. But they are still excellent, best this team has had in 15 years, and certainly more than capable of winning a title with a struggling offense.

A tough game against the toughest opponent QB since Fivehead in his prime won’t change that opinion.

They are an all-time great defense. They’re playing in an era where setting a record for points allowed is virtually impossible. That doesn’t diminish their greatness. They do have one vulnerability, which is against mobile QBs who are currently leading the MVP race in the most offense dominated era in league history. Oh well.

Meh some of the defensive schemes against the texans was baffling. They played some zone which is not our strong suit. I still trust the defense in the playoffs but this offense has to get going.

You are aware that we are playing roughly 60% of snaps in man and not like 95% right ?

What was baffling to you ? Please be a bit specific.. would love to check that out on tape.

I believe they got burned on a td playing zone. I know they play a heavy man scheme. JJ has a very bad game. Idk if maybe the flu was a factor but once again our defense gave up 28 to a good offense.

Bedard pointed out that they blitzed/bought pressure needlessly on 3 back to back plays which resuled in jones being left alone without help. They couldve played for the FG instead. Happens.

Well he did give them off two Victory Mondays which I believe was unprecedented.

And BB said they were having fun in Philadelphia. Lots of days off and having fun. Now there is the reason no-one is on the same page. ;)

I wonder if Steve Belichick's inexperience at calling plays is a factor in these breakdowns...

Yeah, clearly BB has lost it and not putting enough effort to fix the issues with this team and has no pulse of his team .He is just fistpumping and being lackadaisical .
Let's hear it for brady missing OTAs as the other reason too. (he missed last yr too but lets forget it).
Just ridiculous.

We couldn't stop you when it mattered last season, but it wasn't because your defense dominated us. We scored 35.5 points a game, threw for 325 a game, with 7 TDs. I picked you to win this game, but I think you have overestimated our offensive weaknesses.

I think mayo and steve B are calling the plays like they have all season . True to their identity. Sometimes it is the wrong call at the wrong time but they will learn.

There was significant improvement from the first game to the second game. KC's offensive numbers were down across the board, despite the fact that they were playing at home. I expect an even bigger improvement this time around, given the state of that KC offense - the OL, in particular - and with how well this defense has performed for the most part this season, especially at home. The last two games KC has played in Foxboro they had Hunt, who absolutely killed us. They don't have that luxury anymore.

Are you expecting a shootout? I don't see it.

So inexperience in either case...

could be. But we have seen experienced DCs here give up 3rd and longs consistently over the years and this is the best defense we have in a while.
