I first heard this over at Rotoworld. It's a fantasy sports site, so I decided to check their source first. Came across this article from the Associated Press:

Maroney, who gained 252 yards on 54 carries in the first three games, ran well in practice Wednesday but took some plays off and won't play Sunday against winless Miami.

On one hand, I wouldn't be surprised at all if this were true. On the other hand, it seems far-fetched that Belichick wouldn't make him at least a game-time decision. What do you guys think?

I think its a guess...that is all...

Haha if this is true the homers are not going to be able stomach my glass thread. Missing 4 games after coming back from major offseason surgery in your rookie year? Oh boy

Why would he be a game time decision last week and then ruled out midweek now? That could only mean he has deterioirated which is bogus if I had to guess. Len Pasquerelli just reported on NFL Live that based on what he has heard Maroney probably will play (and Seymour will probably return for the Indy game). Who knows what he is basing this on.

I sure hope so.

His glass thread is just that....GLASS!! DISMISSED!!!

Far from necessary that he plays. We could win this game with Sam Bam Cunningham toting the rock.....at his CURRENT age. No need to risk any further injury to the injury magnet.

Ok that's it, before I thought the glass thread was a little to premature, but now that rotoworld says he's sitting out this week, I'm on board, he's totally made out of glass!!!!:bricks:

Let Maroney heal. It's not like we need Maroney to play this week in order to win.

really, makes no sense, disregard it

Wow four whole games?! Better put our 22 year old RB out to the pasture!

As far as the original post goes, it's ridiculous. Nobody knows if Maroney is going to play this week.

Happy to have it extremely clear where you stand. Thanks for being shameless with your preference that Maroney be injured so you can appear "right." What a great "fan." What a despicable, childish approach.

And please feel free to cut the disingenuous "homer" stuff. We have an honest (at least on our part) disagreement about what Maroney's current circumstances foretell of his overall potential and ability. Just because we disagree with this particular criticism does not mean we are closed off to criticism of any kind. That's really stooping on your part and I ask you respectfully to cut it out.

Id keep Maroney and Seymour out untin Indy thats the game of the year.

It almost seems as if that report assumes that because Maroney was "limited" in practice he's not going to play? Donte Stallworth has been listed as "limited in practice" most of the season. Also, while Maroney was "limited" from all accounts (including that report) he looked good.

From what I understand Maroney lobbied BB to play this past sunday. He really wanted to play against the Cowboys and his ex-teammate Marion Barber, but BB decided to air on the side of caution. I don't think BB's letting Maroney audition like that if he truly believes he's not close to return and if he had actually been ruled out well before sunday.

danny88

it has nothing to do with Maroney

you are simply a dimwitted jackass

GFY

You all need to get off of Maroney's case on the injury situation.....he had 25 carries in 2 games.....again.....25 carries.....He's lucky to be alive....

Here's hoping for a quick return....not holding my breath for him hanging around once he is back though....

To steal from Blondie:
"Once the Pats had a back...and it was a gas......soon found out....he had a groin of glass....."
