Either a wr gets this offense or they don’t. Sanu has been here about a week and he’s running hurry up with Brady. Gordon acclimated just as fast. Dorsett has been here a few years now and he’s still we#3. It doesn’t look good for a rookie to learn this playbook all through training camp and the 8 weeks while on ir and still not get any game time, unless they are easing him because of health. Otherwise you have to let players play and learn from experience.

I don't understand why Meyers only got one snap and Dorsett was hurt.

Its very likely they were easing him back, knowing they have a bye week to give everyone another 2 weeks of recovery and practice time to build chemistry/timing

at least i hope so

sanu was great last night..good hands and open all night

Tell that to the other Teams who's Second And Third Round WR's are playing well. IF the Pats run a complicated Offense they don't have complicated players on O. Aside from Brady - Edelman and White who scares you on the Pats O?? Saying the Pats O is complicated is Hog wash this current Offense without a consistent running game is a not SB winning O. May be they should simplify the Offense some to help a lesser guy like Harry.
The reason they run a read and react offense is to find the soft spots in the defense. It gives the receiver a better chance at the ball and creates less of a chance of an interception because you won’t be throwing into traffic.

Give the kid a chance here. He is learning the playbook, terminology, speed of the game, and chemistry with the QB etc etc. There are many reason’s we won 6 SB’s. One of them is not Simplifying things. Harry will develop into a nice receiver. Rome wasn’t built in a day

Sanu was very impressive for the Patriots last night. 10 catches, 80 yards and a TD. That's about what you can expect from him. No he's not a burner but he never has been.

If you want 'stretch the field' you're just going to have to hope that Harry pans out. I'm just kind of upset that we drafted Joejuan Williams with an early 2nd to ride the bench when we could have drafted many other productive and good receivers instead of him.

Also we have almost zero production out of the TE position. That's more of a concern for me than a lack of a speedy wideout. In this offense Sanu is very good. But we need a big bodied red zone threat ala Gronk to really take it to that next level and we have nothing even close to that in New England anymore.

Harry isn't fast either. If we need to stretch the field that's Dorsett.

Have we not had a big enough sample size to realize that Dorsett does not stretch the field? All I hear about is his speed but I rarely see him with much separation on deep routes.

The fact that LaCosse or more like LaCorpse is on this team instead of gordon is a joke. Yes I heard about the work ethic but he can still give you a play here and there. He’s a big target. Some guys on this team are wasting up roster spots.

Yeah I don’t get the thought process of filling roster with scrubs who give 100% and are useless in game rather than a Pro Bowl level player who is giving 80% but still contributing on gameday. How are we better off? What good is attitude or commitment without the skillset?

I can see the conversation

"Wow you guys traded Gordon! He was a major part of your offense. Who did you replace him with on the roster"
BB "Harry"
"Great, how was his contribution relative to Gordon?"
BB "He was a healthy scratch"
"Errr ok. Who was Gordon replaced by on the active roster?"
BB "Izzo"
"Great. Another big bodied receiver, endzone target. How many snaps did he play?"
BB "zero"
"Errrr..... who took Gordon's spot and snaps in the offense then?"
BB "Dorsett"
"But doesn't Dorsett wilt in WR1 mode against top CBs and only flourishes as option 3 or 4? How many snaps/catches did he get?"
BB "66 snaps. 2 catches. Barely made a dent"
"Errrrr ............ you're the boss I guess. I'd have kept Gordon instead of Izzo on the roster".
BB "Yeah but Izzo isn't late to meetings".

Sanu joined a pretty solid list in just his 2nd game

Players to catch 10+ passes from Brady in a game

Welker 19x
Edelman 11x
White 6x
Brown 4x
Amendola 4x
Moss 3x
Branch 3x
Gronk 2x (was actually surprised by this)
Vereen 2x
LaFell 1x
Lloyd 1x
Gaffney 1x
Wiggins 1x

Sanu is perfect for this offense and yesterday showed why. Hes edelman esque in his routes he will only get better with the bye week

Yes he'll thrive in a short passing game. He's big, strong, good hands, smart/savvy, good YAC, loves contact, runs his routes. Perfect for us. Smooth, confident, athletic.

Just don't remind me don't remind me! When you think of who they could have added instead is just sickening.

2017
Cooper Kupp at #69
Or
Failed Panthers DL Kony Ealy at #64

Got to wonder if the Pats scout assigned to locate diminutive shifty white WRs in past seasons had been redeployed in 2017

Now that Sanu caught 10 passes and looked great, where are the "We should have traded for E Sanders comments"?

Sanders is the superior player much Faster than Sanu: Sanders had an injury plus he's much older and is in the last year of his current contract unlike Sanu. I wish we could have had Both our O would be more than set.
