As big of a 'failure' Sammy is.....the backup 'fails' when it comes to spelling his last name. :D

Honest ranking of the young QBs available in the last three years if you had to redraft them today:

  1. Mahomes
  2. Watson
  3. Jackson
  4. Josh Allen
  5. Murray
  6. Mayfield
  7. Minshew
  8. Daniel Jones
  9. Kyle Allen
  10. Nick Mullens
  11. Darnold
  12. Trubisky
  13. Rosen
  14. Falk
Brissett and Garoppolo would be above Josh Allen. Bridgewater would be around Mayfield.

4-9 is kind of a clump that could change a lot. We'll see if Darnold can ascend to that clump. Data is incomplete on him right now.

Edit: Stidham I probably take before Trubisky, Rosen and Falk at this point.
Edit2: Just put Nick Mullens over Darnold. Mullens is statistically better at this point playing for last year's crappy 49ers.

Watson is really overrated because he holds the ball for so long and takes tons of sacks. That he’s still #2 shows how crappy the options are. Mahomes, Watson, Jones, and Allen (and maybe Minishew) appears to be the most promising, as in they don’t have extreme flaws in their game to already be labeled as a likely bust. I guess Murray has done okay, but the dude is like 4’6”.

Mahomes is on another level that all the rest. Allen is benefitting from good coaching, well- controlled play calling, a very good defense and an easy schedule so far.

Given the team he's on, and the superficial BS that the coach throws out as "the QB whisperer", have they broken Darnold for good? Is he ruined?

I can see the entire team imploding at this point.

And to think...the one guy on the team who stands out as a mature, dedicated professional at this point is...Le'Veon Bell!

for the last ten months or so jetefan79 has told us how great dumbazz darnold was. he was better than brady, and the jest would beat the pats with him at qb. Last night he sucked as bad or worse than than ge-no or sanchize, or falk. Under dumb azz the jete sucked worse At Home than anytime in recent memory.

Oh he was worse than Falk.

Cali kid said all the right things after the game. Let's see if he has the balls to rebound.

Darnit threw four picks and all of them were terrible passes.

McFarland kept calling him out for his terrible footwork and terrible pocket presence, and he was right.

He wasn't seeing ghosts, he was seeing his own incompetence.

Lamar Jackson sure looked like the real deal versus SEA.

Micheal Vick atheletics with a much better set of passing skills.

Hope our boys keep their lane discipline when we play BAL.

Yeah, what did he say, that he SUCKED.

I think he did say that actually.

Hope everyone, including his team, is telling him he sucked and that he was an embarrassment last night.

No coddling the Cali kid.

well he has to bring it not sing it.

Down? Na.

Who allows men running around in tights to ruin their day?

I'm just looking forward to seeing NY/NJ pile on Sam. Kid deserves an onslaught of criticism.

Want to see if he can take it. Or whether he's gotta be kicked to the curb.

When will the "Seeing Ghosts" shirts be available.

Sam Darnold got broken, maybe some elmers glue can put him back together in time to play next week?

Bill is one smart dude.

I was trying to figure out what one thing he was going to stop. As everyone always says "bill takes away the opposition's best weapon".

Instead I'm sure Bill watched the tape of the Jets v Dallas game, and saw an oline that could not handle any blitzes.

So Bill was just like "F it, imma send 6, 7, or 8 every time". That was pretty cool to see actually.

Sad for our oline and Sam. But pretty damn ballsy from Bill.

Sam had A gap blitzers running free at him all night.

That's no excuse for the kid though. Still can't throw the ball up for grabs like that. Instead take the sacks or throw the ball away.

JetFan79 - I have to give you props for (a) being loyal to your team through the ups and mostly downs and sticking with them thick or thin...and (b) coming back to the board after a humbling and embarrassing loss like last night.

I kept remembering Dan Orlovsky on Sam Darnold back when he go drafted. Orlovsky does interesting scouting videos and such. He liked Darnold a lot, and said his great attribute was that "He can be accurate even when his feet aren't good." Meaning that even when pressure's around him and he doesn't have ideal footing, he can still pass accurately.

Last night made me think that he relies on that attribute too much. Especially put up next to old man Brady scooting through pressure to find space in the pocket to make technically sound throws. Or else throwing the ball away.
