I would never put money on a line like that. When you get into lines that big you get into teams running the ball late and playing keep away as opposed to scoring points.

I could see this game being fairly close score wise. They can't all be blow outs. Maybe the Pats commit a turnover and they Jets get a cheap score and maybe 3 more points. Perhaps the Patriots get up early and run the ball in the 4th and play keep away leaning on their defense.

I could see a score like 26-10 being a real possibility in that case with the Pats offense being happy to do nothing in the 4th except take some time off the clock and punt.

From the interwebs. Not a week for journeymen offensive linemen unless they plan on running alot.
There were two bright spots for the Jets on Monday. Their defense, led by former Browns defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, embarrassed the Browns offensive line for much of the night and rattled Cleveland quarterback Baker Mayfield early and often. While the final score looked like a blowout, the game was far closer than it appeared, and the Jets defense was a bigger scoring threat than the offense for the second week in a row.

Not sure how the Browns protection schemes, playcalling and Baker Mayfield have anything to do with the Pats. I mean for as much as your write up pumps them up Mayfield dropped back 38 times and was only hit 6 times. So seems like Mayfield's decision making, their offensive rhythm (look at the game against the Titans) and the jest coverage scheme were more of a problem for the Browns than protection.

That defense is also averaging about 375 yards allowed per game and one of those games was the jills.

Bills probably will do their classic start 5-3, finish 6-10 type of season.
Technically, six AFC teams have to make the playoffs. After the Pats and Chiefs, the pickings get slim very fast. Let's say the Ravens are secure and give the South to the Colts. Who's left?

It will be hard for the Bills not to go 4-0 vs. the Jets and Dolphins. 5-7 vs. the rest of the league probably gets them a playoff spot. They just played the Giants. They also play the Bengals, Redskins, and Broncos... and who knows what the Steelers will look like in Week 15? If the Steelers are bad this year then that's 9 games against teams considered "bad" in Jets and Phins x 2, Bengals, Redskins, Giants, Broncos and Steelers. That's a lot of suck.

The Jets let up a lot of yards because Moseley was out. He's huge on that D. They stifled the Bills until he got hurt.

I’m concerned for this game in that I hope they don’t give us a communicable disease.

I had the same type of concern when the Pats went to Fenway with the Lombardi the first time. Luckily, instead of getting Red Sox cooties the Pats gave the Sox some of their magic dust.

Watching the Jets last night, my quick hit impressions:

a.) We will need to lock down Bell and force Falk to throw the ball.

b.) The LT (Beachum) was getting killed by Garrett last night....no big surprise there though, but something we can exploit.

c.) Gilmore on Anderson.

d.) Respect what Crowder can do even after a goose egg last night....and probably will see DeMaryius Thomas on Sunday...maybe make Joe Juan active for this one to take on DT?

e.) Jamal Adams is still a force to be reckoned with. However, the Jets were burned by OBJ last night with a single high safety look.....will Gregg Williams give us the same look? God, I hope so....

f.) I'll be at Gillette on Sunday! 1PM home game vs. our biggest rival while it's still warm! Can't do better than that!!! LFG!!!

It's talented on paper and in theory. But they have looked meh in both of their games so far

They sacked him 3 times. If you are talking about hits, they only had 6 and hits includes sacks, so they only got to him 6 times on 38 dropbacks and i'd bet at least half of them were on Mayfield.

What an absolutely insulting thing to imply. Are you really trying to put Brady in the same category as Mayfield? Mayfield is a 2nd year player that can't read a defense.

The Browns have a terrific roster. They are incredibly undisciplined which made the game almost unwatchable.

Somebody above asked if the Jets defense is better than the Steelers. I think they are, actually. Quicker and much more varied. I liked the Jets scheme last night. You mentioned Brady in the same sentence with Mayfield. There is obviously no comparison. But come Sunday, if we're still depending last week's tackles, I don't feel all that good about how it will go for TFB.

The Browns offensive line is objectively bad. Joe Thomas isn't there anymore.

The Browns are a young team. It's going to take a couple years for the core of that team to really form and grow together. Personally I've always felt that people crowning the Browns this year were seriously jumping the gun. In 2 years they have the pieces to be a force. They have the raw talent to put together a surprise run earlier than that, but too many pieces, including the Head Coach, are new to their roles, so there's not a lot of institutional strength in Cleveland to really springboard their development and tie everything together. .

it will take time for everyone to learn their role and figure out how to do their jobs, including Kitchens.. At least the Browns are finally moving in the right general direction. At least there's now hope for Browns fans

the o/u is currently 44. I'm trying to talk myself into taking the under.

-7000 money line?

I think the under is 11 for 11 when the Patriots are favored by at least 17(?). This, of course, goes back a lot of years. I heard on a podcast late last week it was 10 for 10 and the over/under last week was 47.

The thinking is that blowouts tend to devolve into lots of time-consuming runs and short passes without a big emphasis on getting touchdowns. In fact, even last week, it was only the 2 pick 6s that got it close to the line.

We avenged the Miami Miracle last week, but there is unfinished business with Gase. I'd like to see TB break or tie the game TD (7) record (Brees and Manning are both on list of 8 that hold it):

AB - 3 TDs
Flash - 1 TD
JE11 - 1 TD
Dorsett - 1 TD
LaCosse - 1 TD
White - 1 TD

BB gives the double fingers to NFL and Gotohell.

If they get proper and intense coaching, they may gel into something good.

But right now, they're not getting good coaching.

I don't think we can say that yet. But this is an area where having a rookie Head Coach hurts you and makes it harder for the team to find its identity.

So let me get this straight, you think we should shut down Bell and make the third string QB beat us! Perhaps someone with connections should get this info to Bill quick!
