NBA Draft - Trades - Free Agents

And there it is. Yeah, this is why it was foolish to pay that much. Only the Lakers were foolish enough to blow up their future for one dude. Who has injury concerns as well. I hashed all this over time and time again on a Celtics forum..only to be told by the powers that be that AD would be a Celtic and I was being a negative person who didn’t know what I was talking about.

It would have been even worse for the Celtics to trade for him. He’s going to be a LAL in 2020. What’s the point?

I said it before. and ill say it again. being a GM in the NBA is so much more difficult than being GM in any other sport. so many situations are just out of your control. that and an extremely difficult and complex salary cap structure.

Which is why we should appreciate Trader Danny. He has done a good job overall in terms of moves and drafts.
The fact of the matter is, a lot of these guys just don’t want to come to Boston over places like LA or NYC. It’s fine. Let’s keep the guys who want to be here and F the guys who openly say they don’t (AD).

Yeah. That is the basic premise I debated over there. My trade idea IF it was to be done would have been Jaylen plus filler, and I would have done that with serious reservations. My biggest fear? The Lakers being wise and sitting pat, Ainge blowing his load and AD leaving after this year for LA. Double bleep job by the Lakers.

They are in full meltdown mode over there and the few who are okay with not making the deal, are having a tough time. Lol.

Ainge appears to have made a huge mistake. I saw a recent article that said the Celtics wouldn’t trade Jaylen Brown for Kawhi. Why? Because they thought he would be a major trade piece in acquiring Davis. One major problem in this multi-year obsession with getting Davis: Davis doesn’t want to play in Boston.

Well, Kawhi had multiple issues. A lot of people questioned his desire to keep playing, plus his injury issues were a major red flag. Also, Derozan was 28 when he was traded and Brown is 22. That is a big difference. Best comparison would have been Smart.

Lmao, no they’re not. The Lakers have Anthony Davis and LeBron James. And they’re probably not done and will more than likely have their own big three. Just adding Leonard wouldn’t put the Clippers over the top (and this assumes Leonard doesn’t actually go to the Lakers). I hate the Lakers with a fiery passion, but they’re going to be lethal.
Clearly, you haven't paid attention to their cap position. It might be 3 studs, one decent kid and a whole bunch of scrubs. Sure, you only need an 8 man rotation come playoffs but as the Lakers are constructed and with their cap hits, they're not winning anything. The make a nice story and will sucker in fools for Vegas.

You said the same thing about the Heat when they assembled their super team in 2010. Three years later, they had been to three straight Finals and won two. This is now a league driven by superstars. The Lakers have two of them. The players they lost were the exact same players you were just ****ting on not even four days ago. There’s no way in Hell the Clippers are “significantly better” than the Lakers even IF they add Leonard. That’s nonsensical. Now, you could make an argument that they mortgaged their future over this with the amount of firsts they gave up in the deal. I’d at least buy that. But the argument that the Clippers would be “significantly better” with Leonard is garbage.

LOL: Not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5 , not 6, not 7... Fraud...

I'd like to see that Brown/Kawhi article, LOL. Link? Author? Publication?

Right, and imagine how tough it must be for Lebron. Being a superstar, coach and GM all these years. Holy sh##!!!

What did the Celtics win in that time?
Not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7...The Celtics didn't have the greatest collection of talent in the history of the NBA as the Heat did. And, they never publicly claimed they'd win any.

The Celtics were the original Big 3 with a deeper bench. They could only manage one. That’s the bigger joke. The Heat were together for four and won two. I’m not complaining and I’m glad LeBron is gone. But don’t give me that garbage when they got the job done twice, went to four in a row, and knocked the Celtics out twice along the way. But yeah, they had a pep rally when they all first came to Miami. How embarrassing. Lmaoooo... **** outta here.

Two more than the Celtics had, though. :) After Kyrie ghosts Boston, they’ll also be just as irrelevant as the Heat are. Enjoy.

Boston Celtics 17- Miami Heat 3. Enjoy.

And the people that witnessed most of those are dying of old age. It’s good to be young.
