The Draft is pretty much over at this position. I don't believe there to be a single playing with starting upside left. I like this draft overall but I am dissapointed with how this played out. I hope they have something in the wings.

They could go to a more traditional offense but that plays away from Brady's strengths as he's a match up based QB right now more than anything. Having a TE he can use to exploit and manipulate the D is big. Any thoughts on his spot?

I think at this pont going WR makes a lot more sense. Try to get mismatches within that group with different skill sets, shapes and sizes.

I don’t think they’ll force it. Ben Watson or Jack Rudolph will do. And we’ll be looking for TEs again next year.

It is entirely possible BB doesn't believe any of the TE's not from Iowa are an upgrade from what is already on the roster.

Is Harry really all that different than Shannon Sharpe and a host of other " TE's" of the past and present? Mismatch.

@manxman2601 I have to agree. IDK what they'll do. Hopefully get Kyle Rudolph in here and change his contract. I like him more than Watson.

They already have AS Jenkins who is a good stop gap has shown flashes with average qbs.

There is a move TE from Stanford still available. Kaden Smith. Not much of a blocker but a pretty good receiving threat.

Why don’t I have any notes on this jack Rudolph fella?

Jack Rudolph & Joe Johnson are complete unknowns :D:)

Btw Next year's TE class isnt exactly inspiring a ton of confidence as of now but its a ways away I suppose. Just looks like we'll need a few prospects to really emerge & take the opportunity.

Moreau and Wesco I still quite like.

They were never going to replace Gron's impact with any draftee.
Only 2 top flight TE prospects Fant and Hockeson were BOTH out of reach for Pats in first round.

Some players will be released post draft and they have Anderson on Practice Squad and they signed Lacosse.

Expect LaCosse, ASJ and Izzo will be 3 TE's on the roster on opening day

Offense will be more run heavy this year and not so dependent on big pass plays from TE.
Big chance for ASJ to shine

“I could see Brady becoming an early believer in Rudolph for two reasons: He's extremely reliable within the offense, and he's an outstanding pass catcher. He may not get much separation, but he's not going to drop many passes when he has a chance. In fact, Rudolph's ability on contested catches might be the best at the position besides Gronkowski. That's not hyperbole. ProFootballFocus.com has him for 20 drops on 545 targets in his career (3.7 percent drop rate). Rudolph had two the past two seasons on 163 targets (2.3 percent). Like Gronkowski, he has huge mitts for hands (both measured 10.75 inches).”

Belichick prior to last year’s draft:
“If you take a player at a position that you might so called 'need' but he’s not good enough to fill that need, then it’s a wasted pick.”

Given how many times he traded when a tight end could have been taken, I assume he just doesn’t think very highly of the guys that were available.

That's the best plan going forward. it's better than getting Kyle or Watson as people are suggesting.

I think it just means Bill is higher on LaCosse than the rest of the TEs in this class after Fant and TJH. Plus ASJ has potential but I'm not going to count on him.

I like Kyle Rudolph. He’s sure handed and maybe a change of scenery would do wonders for the guy. I just don’t see them getting a deal done with that 6 million plus payday.
