Since when? I haven’t heard anything on him slipping out of the top half of the first.
I think you missed the "if" in that post.

Thats completely normal as pointed out by DJ. If anyone knows about how leaks come to be it should be Mayock.
you may be right, but Rapaport suggests there’s some sort of trust factor involved between the scouts and mayock/gruden. and sending them home a week before the draft seems unusual - maybe a couple of days beforehand I can see, but a week? and it sounds as if the scouts aren't coming back - they are being effectively fired.
Report: Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock dismiss Raiders scouts
This is about the draft board and not about scouting.
That being said, if Mayock wanted to clean house anyway and setup his own shop/vision for future drafts then waiting until right before the draft makes most sense. Those folks have been working on this years draft for a long time and getting rid of them right when Mayock got the job made no sense because the team would lose way too much time to hire the new staff and then catch up.
Either way I dont think there is anything wrong with whats going on there at least on that level.
Hanlon’s razor: “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." I’m sure there are numerous intentional smokescreens, but I think there are quite a few more stupid low level leaks then we’d like to think. The Pats have generally done a decent job stamping that out; it seems most of their leaks have been smokescreens.I was under the impression that most leaks were strategic rather than some low level scout being stupid when a reporter texts him.
AJ Brown seems like a cant miss at WR. Really like the kid.

I just changed it lol. While I don’t think Haskins (or any qb outside of Murray) should be a top 10 pick he absolutely should be on that list of yours.
So, I looked at some mock drafts, the number of them that had the Patriots take a CB in the first round was surprising. Therefore, I would not be shocked if that is what happened.
Why? We’ve got Cannon, Wynn, Andrews, Karras and mason. That’s a solid coreIt’s a surprise every year. Bill could go OT/OG too
