Darrelle Revis: Patriots Hall of Fame

His season was brilliant to watch, is he worthy? Nope, if he could of stayed until 16' then his chances would of been a lot higher, but my god he was an unbelievable corner, and he was a key guy in bringing back #4

My brother in law says that Revis was better than Ty Law..

Walt Coleman Pats HOF.

First ballott.

Not a chance. A besides, Gilmore is better.

I know Darrelle would be tremendously honored by the NFL.

Personally, he was so good for the 1 year he was here, he gets my vote. I feel he surpasses length of duty requirements. He was All-Pro and helped us win a Championship.

What do you all think?
I say Boooooooooo! Revis was a mercenary and gasp....A Jete!!!!!!

Threads like these are a reason to get rid of the "everybody gets a trophy" movement. Wow, Revis?

“BIFFINS” wasn’t serious starting this thread.

For some very strange reason, the Moss thread got him all Biffined out upset and he took his toys and started this thread.

He’s definitely easier to root for. I don’t know if he’s better, though.

Every time I see Gilmore lineup, I think this is the exact body type that a cornerback should have. He’s long, fast, and quick...strong guy who can jam and then win a sprint. But prime Revis? A sight to behold.

In 2014, though, Revis was starting to decline very slightly. He got toasted by Steve Smith and had it not been for Brady’s heroics, he would have been remembered for blowing the season.

Ahem. I was super duper serious. :D

He was. Not sure if he was in 2014 though. From 2009-2011 not sure there was ever a better CB considering the rules and how far above his peers he stood. Not to take anything away from Law, but he played in the pre-Polian era.

No dice. Can’t stand that flabby loser. He should’ve watched more hanz and franz

Maybe if we take up a collection and give him $9 million he'll agree to enter the Patriots Hall of Fame.

While this was a joking troll thread, take a moment to consider this.

The differentiation between becoming a member of the Hall of Fame, and having a plaque, exhibit, etcetera somewhere physically in the building that is the Hall of Fame.

For example:

Steve Gregory scooping up the ButtFumble and scoring a touchdown.

Brandon Bolden foiling Chuck Pagano's trick play.

Jonas Gray's one game of fame vs the Colts

1961: final play of the game. Crowd has swarmed around the edge of the goal line. Unnoticed at the time a man in a trench coat runs onto the field of play, deflects the pass and the Patriots win. Legend has it that man was Billy Sullivan. Pats win their first game in franchise history.

How about an electrocution exhibit?

On the first panel you could have Clive Rush writhing in pain until Dan Marr saved him. Next to that the fans who tore down the goal posts and walked them out to Route 1, only to hit a power line. And for chuckles, Patriot uniform #81 alongside a picture of the state of Florida's Old Sparky.

oops, sorry - too soon?

Within an exhibit of the 2014 team, make a photo, video or plaque specifically mentioning Revis. Now he is technically "in the Hall".

Problem solved.

Why is there hate for Revis? For playing incredible and helping us win a championship on a 1-yr $12m rental?

“Everybody’s blowing it [Deflategate] up because it is Tom Brady. I understand that. But if [the NFL] feels he did the crime or he did something and they want to penalize them, then that’s that. [The Patriots] have a history of doing stuff. You can’t hide that Tom was there when they did that stuff in the past … Stuff repeatedly happened through the years. You got Spygate, you got this and that and everything else.”

Captain Insano is right - - you haven't been paying attention. You may as well champion Rob Parker for the Patriots HOF.

Fark him.

There was a REASON why he didn't attend the ring ceremony in the summer of 2015 and there is a reason why the team barred his mother from entering it in his stead. Sorry, this eluded you.

Once again. Fark him.

.

Jete got a really good deal for that 100K tampering fine.

$39M for one season of below average CB play. I remember Malcom Mitchell juking him out of pants for a GW TD to a mocking crowd.

That 2015 offseason...what a loud roar from the Jesters. “Jets 24, Patriots 0” headline from Manish. Good stuff.

if he could of stayed until
 If he could HAVE stayed. Not "of" stayed. Or, you might use "could've" which sounds like "could of" but is a contraction of "could" and "have."
