The Browns game could be tough...they're scrappy and the Pats are coming off a Monday night game.

There's a saying on Wall St. "Sell euphoria", meaning that when all the good news is in a stock then it is time to sell. If the Pats were a stock, it would be one of those moments. Everyone is talking about how great they are, etc. etc. They still have weaknesses in the secondary..

I wouldn't be suprised if the Pats barely eke one out. Who knows. I think counting on 38-7 or whatever COULD be off base.

We'll see.

Frankly, I prefer the stock saying "the trend is your friend" meaning that it's unwise to fight with the way a stock is performing when it's trading upward. Myself, I'd go long with it.

The only way I don't see this game as a blowout is if BB wishes not to embarass Romeo.

You think that Belichick can't motivate his players to play against "Crennel and the Patriot Wannabee's"? You're kidding? Right?

i'm not sure they're gonna barely eke it out, but i think we all need a healthy dose of worry...it's a long season and we don't want to be eating any humble pie this early...

Isn't our weakness in the secondary that we will no role except special teams, once Harrison is playing. Meriweather should be starting as a rookie first rounder. He will not even be the dime back when Harrison comes back. And, just BTW, Meriweather has been playing great in preseason and during the season when he had a chance to play. Meriweather is our #7 defensive back.

I completely agree. They aren't claiming we have the #1 defense in the league for nothing - w/o our veteran safety. With the rotation and depth available in the secondary, it's more of an enviable position to be in than a weakness in my opinion.

It'll be a tougher ganme than many think...maybe close till the half?? I just think it's not going to be like SD or Buffalo...a BIT tougher..surprisngly.

They said this about the Bills game.

We're not as good as we look right now, I guarantee it. Think about it - a differential of 25 points times 16 games = 400 points. Very few teams score that in a season... and those teams would have to pitch a shutout to win with that margin. For perspective, last year's Chargers scored 30.8 per game. We're winning by 25 per game. The Pats continuing on this pace would be like the Chargers' offense of last year, The Ravens' (12.6 points per game) defense of last year, plus a touchdown from special teams every single week of the season.

Cool as that would be, it ain't gonna happen.

Anybody could knock us off, any week. That's the NFL. It could be these Browns, but it seems unlikely. The Cowboys and Colts seem like the logical candidates. But then, who thought the Dolphins would knock off the Bears? Or, more recently, who thought the Dolphins would knock off the Bears?

The longer the players truly have their heads around that, the more likely the still unlikely 19-0 run becomes.

The beauty of it is, of course, the playoffs already look like a lock. It'll be a drag when that first loss comes... but it's not like Mangenitalwarts is going to give us a run for the title.

IMO most of you are being too cautious. The Browns in Gillette!?!? They're going to get trounced. This is an easy prediction.

Every game in the NFL is very tough.

I don't see why this weekend would be any different.

It doesn't mean that the Pats will lose.

Maybe you should short Google. Everyone says it is heading for 600.

Turnovers.....the great equalizer. A few untimely ones could keep it close or make it a loss.

You know that as badly as BB and all the Pats want to win, they definitely won't intentionally embarrass Romeo. They will play hard nosed, Patriot football....Romeo would expect nothing less and to do less than that would be an embarrassment to Romeo...and all Pats fans know that he deserves the Pat's best.

the stock market is a horrible analogy to wins&losses in a football game

I just don't see how Cleveland poses any challenge. Their offense features a power running game and an inexperienced QB. Their defense gives up a 100 yard rusher every week. Oh, and the game is at home on the turf.

I agree that not every game will be a blowout. I just don't think this is the week the trend breaks.
