Anyone watching Inside the NFL on Showtime?

One of the most underrated and least talked about important things BB does, is get involved like a position coach .He gets down and shows proper blocking and tackling technique, etc.
To us Pats fans this is normal. But he is one of the very few HC's in the NFL who does this.

Yeah, I don't know if this was done for drama, but while they showed BB coaching and teaching things, McVay is just shown as basically a cheerleader.

I mean, I came away genuinely liking McVay. But he was sorely outmatched in this one. Yikes.

Brady was definitely all about the field goal at the end. He made it sound like wtf are we even discussing this.
I like McVay. He's done a nice job in LA.

.....but this was Luke vs Vader in Empire Strikes Back

Anyone who thinks there's no "Patriots Mystique" needs to watch this, especially the beginning. The Rams were in awe. McVay saying he wanted to get the game started to see what Belichick's plan was? Wow.
Agree.

It's fair to say BB and TB12 are the Red and Russell of this era. Other teams see those two and they just lose any confidence they had.

That's why you have to give the Iggles last year credit. They played loose and confident. Peterson and Foles were men

McVay and Goff are kids.

If Wade was in it I missed it. Would love to have seen more of him.

Also, the part where Belichick was trying to spot McVay on the sideline, kind of interesting. Made me think back to the end of SB49, when he said about not calling a timeout (basically) "I looked over there and I saw something."

And of course he knew the Gilmore pick would be a pick as soon as it left Goff's hand. I don't know if anyone noticed in SB39 (Eagles) but there was a late long TD by the Eagles and as the ball was snapped I distinctly remember BB throwing his arms up and yelling at Mangini for not calling the right D.

Bosa saying "we'll be back" is going to learn a hard lesson soon. I'm surprised he would say something like that, I mean it's been said many times by players who thought they'd be back and never did get back.
Didn’t Belichick say that to Brady?

He's very young. He still has a lot to learn. He will be a quality coach in this league for a while to come but he's still very much cutting his teeth.

If McCourty retires..he will be missed so much as a leader. His speeches before games give me chills.

What is interesting is that this team is full of leaders. From DMAC to Jules to Brady to Slater to Hightower to Chung. That is what has always been the core of the great Pat teams. They hold each other responsible and demand perfection from everyone. From 2001-2004 that group included Teddy, Willie, Harrison and Brady to name just a few.

Awesome. I do think the NFL needs to think about reining in some of the field passes.
And give up the opportunity to take more money from people? Fat chance.

Your post actually made me realize how similar this team is to the one from the first dynasty in regards to leadership. Wow.

There is actually a great article on the Rams fan website that starts from the same premise that the game was lost by the Rams before the first snap, but it is a technical analysis where McVay's coaching failed.
Do you have the link?
