Bill Going to move to GM only?

That would be an absolute nightmare scenario.

Just kidding. I love Bill the GM.

I'm thinking that might be his game plan...He will obviously still be involved in all aspects but will pass the reigns as HC

I tend to doubt it. The GM role always seems to be complementary to his coaching. He loves the Xs and Os.

His original statement on not becoming Marv Levy seems to have softened over the years. With that said, I see him as in full or out completely. Whenever he lacks the passion/energy to coach, I expect he is gone.

I expect he will stay on as HC for a few years after Brady finally hangs it up and retires. BB will want to prove it was him not Brady by building the next generation of the dynasty before handing the reins to Josh as his successor. He might step down as HC and stay as GM but only after 2 to 3 years, and a stable QB situation in a successful franchise.

Bill should create a new title like 'grand master' so McDaniels can stay as HC. Kind of like Obi wan when he died, he was just as/more powerful.

I think our best pal is Linda ... she keeps Bill in optimum operational shape.

He's not stepping away from coaching anytime soon ... thanks to Linda.

I think Bill may be only a GM at some point - I just don't think that excites him much.

This seems very accurate. Plus 9 years ago he probably thought Brady had 5 more and somehow Brady still has 5 more.
Someday they will have many laughs on how they cheated the NFL's father time.

I'd actually prefer it if Caserio (Or a new aGM) takes care of the draft. BB can shop for free agents.

He does not strike me as someone who needs to prove anything to anyone. Also, he has two rings with the Giants and is responsible for the Browns last playoff win.

Unless Caserio goes elsewhere, the Director Of Player Personnel will have a lot of input on the draft.

I presume this is a left handed criticism of the choices of Wynn, Michel, Dawson, Bentley and trading forward for a 2nd 2019 and a 2019 3rd.

As an aside, there are also potential contributors in Sam, Izzo, and Berrios

Maybe they could bring in a Mike Lombardi type personnel guy for the draft. Seems it could strengthen what's been an area of weakness (Drafting) lately.

I wonder how she keeps him in such good shape

People keep bringing up something he said about ten years ago without realizing that having two of his kids on staff essentially revitalized him.

He will be the coach for at least another 5 years if not more.

I always assumed the reason Belichick left the Jets was because Parcells was staying on as GM. He would have gotten all the blame if the team did not do well and Parcells all the credit if the team did do well. I doubt he'd put McDaniels in that position. Plus, I think he loves coaching and prefers it to the personnel side.

IMO he will coach at least until he surpasses Don Shula's all-time record for regular season victories by a HC. BB trails by 67 so as long he can find a QB after TB12 it should take him about 6 years until the age of 72.
