I know it's cliche, but if the Pats are the more physically punishing team, they'll win.

Regards,
Chris

No "if" involved Chris, Pats ARE and WILL BE the more physcal team.
They are one of the most physical teams in the NFL. "Physical" is not something that just applies to defense or running the ball.
They have physical wrs and te who are excellent and very willing blockers. Gronk and JE11 love to hit people.
They have a killer FB who crunches bones.
They have a power running game.
Most of their defenders are excellent tacklers.
The more physical team almost always wins in the NFL. This has never changed in 50+ years. Just like boxing.
Every one of the Pats' SB winning squads were among the most physical teams in the league.
It is one of the most underrated and overlooked aspects of winning football.
Despite close to 20 years of rule changes and points of emphasis favoring offenses it's still a collision sport.
Over the course of a game, collisions take their toll.
Nobody collides more than the Patriots.
KC,at home, is a tough matchup.
If you're a Pats fan, you have to feel good about how theyve been playing last 3 games. Smashmouth. It travels well.

You want the best four teams playing in the conference championship games. I believe the four best teams are competing this weekend. No frauds like the Texans, Eagles, or Colts. The four teams that should be here...are here.

ESPN has the Saints & Chiefs virtually tied (33 percent each) as the teams with the best shot to win Sunday. Rams are at 18 percent. Pats are a little over 15 percent.

My point was more along the lines of, "Being more physical is a good receipe for success, but especially so in these temps." I think the Pats could beat the will to live out of KC's players in these temps if they attack correctly.

Chris

True...this year the top 2 seeds represented the best...to be underdog at 15%...i do not care

I think we hv now 25% chance to win it ALL just mathematica...

The 15% is based on the Brady "struggles", per ESPN. Road record is factored into that too. But my thinking is that Past results are not indicative of future results. Brady looks completely healthy now.

Wow. Lot's of homers here. Sorry to pee in your Cheerios What about old man Brady in sub 0 temps? We all remember that young Eli Manning beating old man Favre in Green Bay. Farve looked cold! Eli did not. How will this team overcome the homer calls by the refs?! I was there in 2006 in Denver to witness one of the worst DPI calls I have seen. The crowd made the ref. change his mind! What about the noise and pass rush. They will have that 1/2 second jump or so that defenders get at home. Who can keep up with PM when he runs? KVN can't. They will double Edleman. Single Gronk and the other receivers. No DPI called in the playoffs so expect Gronk to be held all game. They always let them play. You wait and see. This will be close like the Denver games were but the Pats will fall short once again. Please bring on the red X's.

How did your pick that the Chargers would smoke us work out for you?

Beating man, O line holding up is a massive factor.

This week’s song “gonna know we were here” by Jason aldean

We're going to Kansas City, Kansas City here we come
We're going to Kansas City, Kansas City here we come
They got some crazy lil' QB there
And we're gonna beat us one.

I'm gonna be standing on the corner
Of Twelfth Street and Vine
I'm gonna be standing on the corner
Of Twelfth Street and Vine
With my Pats gear on
I'll listen to those Chiefs fans whine.

Well we might take a train
We might take a plane, but if we have to walk
We're going just the same
We're going to Kansas City, Kansas City here we come
They got some over hyped team there
And we're gonna get it done.

Oh but you know yeah

Now when we show with 5 trophies, I know they're gonna cry
Gotta get a brand new ring
That's the reason why
We're going to Kansas City, Kansas City here we come

They got some crazy lil' QB there and we're gonna beat us one
They got some crazy over hyped team there and we're gonna get it done
They got the Championship game there and we're gonna get it won

Ain't scared to ride this train
Make a few marks, leave a few stains
Might slam just a little too hard
Might take it just a little too far
Might burn out like a firework
Like a shooting star across the sky
And we may not be around in 20 years
But they're sure gonna know we were here
Yeah, they're sure gonna know we were here

Just realised KC hasn't really beaten anybody at home. Since the "they were good at the time" argument doesn't work for some of the Pats' losses it doesn't apply here either.

KC beat at home: DEN (6-10), OAK (4-12), SF (4-12), JAX (5-11), CIN (6-10), & ARI (3-13). The only remotely "good" teams they've beaten are BAL by 3 and Indy in the cold. Not very impressive.

Don't get me wrong, I get that they have a good advantage there but let's face it they're not invincible.
Also, the Pats have been bad on the road. 3-5 as it were, against non playoff teams no less. But we do know some contributing factors to this anomoly given their past record on the road; including - but not limited to - their 8-0 record on the road last season.

- DET, TEN, & PIT all starred former Pats
- JAX- It was hot as shyte in FL. PHI lost in TB as well for the same reason that week. Pats just can't play in the heat.
- MIA - Pats for some reason have a bad history of playing in Miami. Plus the offense scored at the right time. Just the Miracle in Miami no one saw coming.

Its true, Pats haven't been very good on the road. But in KC iirc there are no former Pats in a significant position on their team, it will not be hot by any means (lol), and this isn't Miami.
Really the Pats just need to execute well early so the crowd noise is taken down a notch. The cold may make the crowd even slightly more quiet than, say, the 2014 Mon night game.

No matter how I look at this, I cannot find one reason this game is impossible for the Pats to overcome; especially if the team is truly hitting their stride right now. The only thing they need to do is stay out of their own way. Easier said than done, sure. But I know they're preparing now. And they will come focussed. We will see how they come out the gates. I'm confident, if cautiously optimistic.

never bought the "without blown coverage or huge return" rational. The team still would have the ball..so to say they wouldn't have scored without those huge plays is silly..imo
disagree completely

a blown coverage TD/score is a "lucky" score and unlikely to happen again, regardless if the offense scores later or not, they take up much more time, and have the ball less often later on

if two teams play one game which came out even 43-40 and one team did it w/ methodical drives and another did it with blown coverages, the team most likely to win the second time is the one that scored with methodical drives because that goes to coaching, execution, skills, matchups, if its blown coverage its easily correctable and unlikely to be repeated

Bless me Football Gods for I have sinned.....
For the first time in 18 years I gave up on my Team after they forgot how to tackle in the Miami game....
I thought the season was over doubting my two Supreme Masters of QB and Coach the game has ever seen.....
Please allow me to kneel back at their alter...
What is my penance
