From the Pat-hating pundits eating their words today, to the naysayers betting heavy on the team formerly from San Diego, and then... of course... the piece de resistance... replaying in my mind the best half of football this team has played all year...

Get ready for it again. The only thing we'll hear from those pundits all week is about how badly the team has sucked on the road this year.

I will be enjoying it for much longer than a week. I'd like to think you are not so old a rover that you will forget it in just seven short days and will be able to return to it many times in the years to come, like a favorite pair of old jeans or a comfort food.

We are wearing down even the hard-core haters. I actually read this on a Colts forum:

---
At this point I don’t even care if New England makes another Superbowl. They’ve been to so many I am numb to it at this point. Like some I could complain about how lucky they seem to be, but luck isn't an answer any more unless you think 18 years of luck is even possible. I’m numb to it at this point because the Colts aren’t a legit rival like we were a decade ago.

So I'll say it. They are the best ever in every category (QB, coach, longevity, etc) and will never be topped.

10 years ago when we still had Manning, I adamantly wanted them to lose because they were on a drought and the Manning Colts finally got over the title hump. We had the opportunity to win 2 out 4 nine years ago and could have challenged their dynasty at the time. Of course, we lost that horrifying Saints SB and then Manning’s Colts tenure came to a much earlier end than anyone would have expected, while the Pats just kept winning and finally ended their championship drought. You can even say the second half of their run has been better than the first, when we were trying to keep up.

So I have become, like Pink Floyd...comfortably numb.

This was among the best post-season wins I have witnessed. The Patriots just dismantled a "complete" team with a good QB, RB, and a real pass rush. The Patriots turned into the Patriots and it was glorious, especially after a season of not so Patriots play.

Great win!

I get where oldrover is going - he's hoping our team pulls off an even bigger "upset" to savor this weekend.

I am in total reality for the Chiefs... it'll be the toughest game of the season (to this point :) ). But they've got a great chance... 100% healthy... both offense and defense have really gelled... seemingly overnight!

Still enjoying the Chargers game though. I really want to break my radio ban today... but I'm holding strong... not letting those losers...

...harsh my mellow. ;)

Like a buddy of mine said after the game (he’s a Jet’s/Eagle’s fan), Pats played a complete game. And for 3 quarters they really did. Against a top notch offense and top notch defense. They basically had their way against the Chargers offense and defense. Played a great game, and it was enjoyable because of all the naysayers.

Playoff wins:

Tom Brady > Peyton Manning PLUS Brett Favre
Tom Brady > John Elway PLUS Brett Favre
Tom Brady = Peyton Manning PLUS John Elway
& a boatload fewer losses!

aiming to top the combined Montana/Young eras (30-15; vs. TB12 28-10)

if TB12

is on the losing side next week,
plays until age 57,
and
is one-and-done in the playoffs each and every year through 2034,

He will THEN fall into a tie with Peyton Manning with respect to career playoff game winning percentage.
