B.G.C. 2019 NFL Draft/Patriot-Type Players Thread

Hockenson and Fant are easily my 1 and 2 TEs for this year. I’m hoping Hockenson declares.

Yea I'd be pretty surprised at this point if Hockenson stays?

If I'm Cleveland or even Baltimore (2 TE back2back years?) I'm targeting one for my QB.

Njoku + Fant/Hockenson

Andrews/Hurst + Fant/Hockenson

Make it a lil easier in year 2 knowing it'll only get tougher. I think I just said Browns should go D Rd 1 so I'm officially in draft mode

If i'm Hockenson, i'm declaring. The worst case for him is he drops to the 2nd round. The guy is legit.

I'd love if we got either of them. At the moment i have Fant as a slightly more of a Tim Wright TE at the moment, and maybe even AH... but he will develop to that traditional TE given time and strength.

Hockenson - is Pro Ready at all levels. Underrated Blocker, deceiving speed. Strong hands.

I'd be surprised if the Ravens go that way, just because i think Hurst and Andrews have done fairly well this year. Despite them not having a focused passing attack.

Browns i can see doing it, but depends how they scheme it really. I rarely see them looking at 2 TE sets, but wouldn't put it past them to draft one, as Dorsey seems to know what he's doing.

I think Fant is a decent enough blocker rn. Wright is a bit much for a comp but I see where you're coming from. He should test a lot better as well. I hoping for a 4.4-4.5 forty, 40+ vert & somewhere around 7 3C.

Hockenson is a beast though

See the Kittle comp is happening

That play reminds me of Gronk against the redskins in 2011 I think?!

First thing I thought of as well. Washington I believe? We need him here.

how does Iowa produce all these All-world TEs? Unreal

Honestly I’m not 100% sure but it the coaching staff deserve massive credit for producing them. They also run 2 TE sets a lot of the time

I just read a CBS Sports mock draft and they predicted that half of the first rounders will be defensive lineman.

Even Clemson is admitting the truth. . . .

I've talked about him in here. (Again if you're reading this but not the thread , take 30 minutes & go through it. You'll be well versed on the top 100 players & a few sleepers/lesser known prospects)

Anyway Charles Omenihu is absolutely atop the PTP list somewhere. He's everything we go for & more.

Dude is rocked up at 6'6/270-ish. Imposing as is but he has some room & will fill out. Long arms, knows how to use em big time.

Great first step for a big boy. It's noticable. First off the ball. He wins or gains advantage w it. At times when he times the snap he's really really tough to beat. Gives iol fits shooting inside.

He's very adapt at punching, clubbing & stunning first while giving his man nothing to hit. Long arms shoot out attacking while the rest of him is behind the immediate area to grab or retaliate.

Not a bendy guy but has some flexibility in his ankles & hips. He can really hug the corner.

Ends up on the ground a lil too much. Can be pushed upfield a lil too easy. Would like to see him step into lanes, get his hands up if he's not getting to the QB.

+Length, plays w great leverage at times.

Excellent run defender. Has trouble w doubles but who doesn't at his age. He's a 2 gapper folks! Made a ton of plays for his teammates, both in the front 7 & secondary. Shooting gaps, blowing up plays. Holding his ground on the los. Chasing a QB off his spot.

Very difficult to reach or really get ahold of bc of his length, leverage & burst. Strong dude again though he's gonna fill out, add a few lbs & really be something in a year or two.

Has some work to do recognizing blocks. Will get fooled occasionally.

Overall he should be on New England's list.

I think Wilkins is a better pass rusher and more versatile. Would take Wilkins.

@BaconGrundleCandy

What can you tell me about a couple injury specials in Dante Booker and Charles Wright?
