Patriots Player Departure Josh Gordon Stepping Away?

I see far more than disappointment in this thread. I see fans quitting on the team's chances with two games left in the season.

Only a blind fool can't see and understand that a team that was already a relatively mediocre playoff team was just seriously impacted on the offensive side of the ball, and that said impact delivered a huge blow to the team's chances of winning the Super Bowl.

Acknowledging that isn't quitting. It's accepting the reality of things.

They have as good a chance to win this year as they have the last decade. I don't know how else to state my confidence in this team.

No, they really don’t. And that much is obvious. Perhaps you’d like to tell me how they’re going to fix the run defense or who is going to take Gordon’s role in the offense?

I didn't make this about you. You did with backwards logic. You are the one simaltaneously proclaiming the season over and stating somehow that only bandwagon fans are the only ones who think we still have a chance.

Then you didn’t understand my OP either. It’s not about those who think we have a chance. It’s about those who think absolutely nothing is wrong. I’m fine with optimism as long as there is an admission that this is perhaps our weakest squad in nine years and a logical discussion about the holes. There is no such discussion when you shrug off an issue as big as the run D and say something like “meh, it’s a passing league.”

And you seem to feel the need to proclaim your a football genius or something. I don't feel the need to post such statements I'm comfortable in my knowledge of the game thank you very much for asking though.

Not when it’s compared to you. That’s been abundantly clear in the past when I’ve asked you to break down X’s and O’s to support your assertions. Your “knowledge” is basically, “Belichick is the bestest ever and everything he does is wonderful and great” which adds absolutely nothing to the forum. As a matter of fact, before you accuse another member of quitting on the team, perhaps you should point that finger at him. This is, after all, the team he constructed.

It went off the rails quicker than Josh Gordon at happy hour.
Too soon?

Or Coolade in Manila... Off the rails, off the continent, but right on top of it even if we get married these pics are international anonymity... Post is basically affirmation of incredible experience , that is now in FB mode.

Has anyone coined the phrase gordongate yet?

My theory is the NFL intentionally sidetracked Gordon with dubious "violation" of stupid requirements of a player on reinstatement protocol.. like oh you missed your 10th drug and alcohol test last week..

NFL please gfy.....

I searched for a dong and didn’t see one so you’re in the clear. Post op at the very worst. You need to get that girl a burger though. How much blow have you two done over there? And how is the blow over there? Asking for a friend.

Does that come in adult?
You really need to reconsider posting that kiddie stuff

he had his last shot and blew it..football apparently wasn't that important to him. He looked slow anyway, in a year or 2 he will not even be able to play in the league.

It won’t matter. He’s probably permabanned anyway.

His numbers had him as a top 10 level receiver, even while missing his top end burst. So we probably should avoid the sour grapes approach on this.

Belichick is great and the bestest ever. The fact you mock that explains a lot.

I've given plenty of Xs and Os through the years again I don't feel the need to prove myself to you or get in pissing matches with you over it.
But to answer your questions:
Dorsett will likely be called on to fill in for Gordon. Gronk, Edelman, and White will obviously be the real keys as Brady will lean on them more. He's done more with much less before.

To fix the run would require more commitment to it and that would start with dressing Shelton. Then play more out 4/3 and 3/4. And most importantly they need to 2 gap better. The interior DL seems to be shading to one side too often and not covering both gaps.
However I don't think this is BB's biggest priority I think he'll continue worry more about passing and play out of nickel and dime just as much. When the O is at it's best this strategy has a good success rate.

If Belichick thought Shelton was the solution to the running defense's woes, Shelton would not be a healthy scratch.

Are there really people this conceited?

The "conceit" for a lot of folks is unawareness (willful or not) of the filters that their own assumptions and biases impose on their perceived "reality". Having that filtered reality confirmed for them (I knew this was coming) gives them feelings of comfort and security - "all is right with the world". Not "knowing" is really scary sh it.
