Pats (theoretically) still have a shot at the #1 overall seed

Of course things are beyond our control at this point, but according to the ESPN playoffs machine, if the following plays out, Pats not only get a 1st round bye, but the #1 seed overall. Granted it’s more than likely that won’t be the case, but wishful thinking is still allowed… :)

Week 16

Pats over Bills

Ravens over Chargers

Eagles over Texans

Saints over Steelers

Seahawks over Chiefs

Week 17

Pats over Jets

Broncos over Chargers

Raiders over Chiefs

The rest don’t change the outcome – Pats get the #1 seed

Final Seeding

#1 Patriots

#2 Texans (assumption is they beat the Jags, otherwise Chargers/Chiefs get to sit here)

-----

#3 Chiefs

#4 Ravens

#5 Chargers

#6 Steelers

Long shots, but for those who wonder, yes, it is still mathematically possible.

Not anymore, they don't.

Not without Gordon...our CF of an offense just got worse

You're insane.... At no pint during this year have they shown that they can win/be the number 1 seed... Hate to say it ,but it might be the time for the rebuild every pats fan doesn't want to admit ...

If you read my post, I clearly stated that this is very long shot, borderline winning the powerball... :) . I was just curious to see if it's even mathematically possible. That's all. Nowhere did I allude that it is likely. Big difference.

Ugh.......

All seem doable except the Raiders game... 2 seed is very attainable assuming we don't **** ourselves any time in the next two weeks.

So they can’t beat the bills and jets?
That’s all they have to do if the other games fall in place.
I would say when they won 8 of 9 to get to 9-3 they certainly looked like they could win/be the 1 seed.

But, he did not read your post.

To prove that I'm the most wicked smaht anonymous poster on PastFans.com between the hours of 3-4AM.....I predict:
1) NE wins week #16
2) NE rests all its ailing failing aging bodies......aka......TB12 clients........and gets destroyed week #17
3) Resulting in a 10-6 record which so happens to be my preseason prediction....mocked at the time by the fangirl kool-aid swallowers and other kinds of swallowers as well

After their week #17 bye, then the NEP playoff run can begin

Week 16 scenario you posted looks possible.

This is happening!
Going to the bowl and winning it without Gordon just to piss off goodell

What! Why is this being discussed? We will be lucky to win Sunday.

More reasonable is for PHI to beat HOU to give us the #2, and for KC to be beaten in their first playoff game. We would then have the top seed and play at home.
Would make for remarkable symmetry if Lombardi#6 was delivered to us in this fashion: in 2001, Pats were the #2 seed after an 11-5 record and won multiple tight games against teams with supposedly better talent.
