That sequence was bad coaching all around. They should have run up to the marker and gotten in a snap before the warning. They should have called literally anything else on that play. If you're going to do some tricky **** then give it to Patterson on the jet sweep instead, he'll definitely get you a yard and might get you a lot more. That play was high risk low reward.
It's starting to look like trading him to Detroit would have been the right call, sadly. I think he can still be a top guy but the clock is definitely ticking.
