Rewatching the game right now and towards the end Wise limped off after KC's final XP. He was actually on the ground holding his foot in pain for a bit. This is something to keep an eye on.

I remember thinking : how did you get hurt on a PAT ?

That is how Gronk broke his hand against the Colts. Big bodies smashing into other big bodies means sometimes there are freak accidents.

Actually nevermind. A KC player pushed Adam Butler into his leg:

Looks to me like he is holding his shin and not his knee:

He broke his arm, which cost him the rest of the 2012 season (and significantly impacted the Pats' SB chances in 2012) and the start of the 2013 one.

Yes I meant to say arm not sure why I ended up typing hand.

Are there any teams that trust their defense anymore? The Eagles won the SB while allowing 500 yards and 3 TDs, 0 INTs to Brady. That's the problem...the entire league is just an offensive fireworks fest. An NFL defense is kind of equivalent now to the batting tee in tee-ball.
Exactly.

Any fans who have hopes of this Pats D being special need to check your dreams at the door.

I think the bubblegum state of the NFL is being overemphasized here. This was always going to be a crazy game. I thought it would end up as something like 36-33 with elite offenses squaring off against subpar defenses. The offenses played well and the putrid defenses actually underachieved even more than usual. The result: a highspeed car chase.

What worries me is a defensive team like the Ravens slowing us down while our defense can't stop them since we can't stop anyone. We've got a lot of firepower; yet, the second we face a top pass rushing unit lots of those weapons become irrelevant.
Pats will hang 35 on the Ravens and keep their crappy O under 24

I practiced my go to bed before they screw up theory...

Porcello was pitching the 8th and pats had just scored Midway through 4th qtr.

Theory is I wake up and they won I'm happy... If they lost I'm happy I went to sleep.

And predictably here come the "scary Ravens" narratives combined with nonsense about out defense not being able to stop anyone. Like a double jackpot of suck.

They're not going to face a better offense than the Chiefs though

The biggest thing to takeaway from this game is that the Patriots offense is back to being both dynamic and elite which is all you need to compete for a SB now.
I doubt they will face a worser defense than KC either.

So I guess you missed most of SBLI ?

6:30 game... . The theory does not include super bowls or elimination games. Unless I pass out.

Your lover is waiting for you to return from the raging high seas, with open arms. Go to her!

Gurley 623 yards (6 games)
Elliot 586 yards (6 games)
Gordon 466 yards (6 games)
Hunt 456 yards (6 games)
Conner 453 yards (6 games)
Barkley 438 yards (6 games)
Crowell 430 yards (6 games)
Michel 400 yards (5 games)

I am still hoping to see a little more Breakaway speed from Michel. I use to love to see when Blount broke those big runs to the house. Haven't seen that kinda speed from the younger Michel yet.
