The Josh Gordon Thread: Pats Officially Acquire Gordon for Fifth-Round Pick

Call me shock that other teams didn’t wanna pony up especially the cowboys. I wonder if they know something we don’t?

They know he's a recovering addict who's one positive test away from an indefinite suspension who hasn't done anything in 5 years. I'm not at all surprised that a 5th was the highest bid, no GM wants to be the guy who gave up a 3rd rounder for an addict who immediately gets popped and suspended for life, would carry that around with him for the rest of his career.

The fact that he was able to command even a 5th is a testament to how alluring his upside is, because most guys with his track record over the last 5 years would have been out of the league 3 years ago.

Edelman is going to be amped (as if he was not already gonna be). He sees himself as the big dog of the WRs.

Also, is his hammy not hurt right now ? wonder when he can start playing .

Gonna OD on Mary Jane?

Are you 90 years old and still reading Nancy Reagan flyers on the dangers of marijuana?
Weed is often a gateway drug. I would be surprised if he hasn't graduated to harder stuff by now. 90% of the league smokes weed. They don't have the issues he does. Something is wrong.

True. He went to the right place though. If he can’t make it here then just quit football. I am glad we took the risk though.

He was cleared via a MRI....hammy is just fine...

Drugs are more important to Gordon than football, or even making millions of dollars. He's a junkie. Maybe we get a few decent weeks out of him, but this is pointless. We will be lucky if he doesn't OD on us. I do not like this move. Since when did we start making moves out of desperation?

I'm saving this one...great potential for a signature.

I wonder if this is another one year hire?

Well, for one thing, he had separation against the Steelers last week. He beats his guy at the line and then has a step and a half on him racing towards the end zone. Taylor just underthrows him and forces him to work back and make a pretty amazing leaping catch while running away from the ball. I don't know, if you pointed me at that play alone, I'd tell you that's a great receiver.

He also had 18 receptions for 18.6 yards per reception in 5 games last season catching passes from DeShone Kizer and popped off in the final week for 115 yards against the Steelers.

This was New Years Eve last year.

I don't see where he's washed up.

Whoever the hell is saying he is washed up is watching Brandon LeFell.
