He had timeouts.

Yes, three I believe. And when asked about it post-game, he starts whining about how "I shouldn't have to use my timeouts to give the officials the time to review the play, it should be automatic." Okay, so to prove your point, you lost the game? How dumb you are. You had timeouts you weren't even going to use and you either didn't out of personal stubbornness or you didn't use them because you're just a really bad gameday coach. I am leaning on the latter with the former being a pathetic excuse.

You've only seen him in pre-season. It may be that Davis is more consistent in contain than Rivers at this point, and Davis was also in on some pressures today.

Edge-rushing isn't everything.

I'll have to go back and look to see if Davis was actually run at. Most of the runs seemed to be through the "B" gaps with Miller busting them outside after he got through the O-line.

It was pouring when they tried that last field goal. The fact that the browns hung in there to tie it is a win for them.

Yes, but I read that Jackson blew the play before it by running the ball and took more time off the clock than needed.

I stated in the GDT that McCarron will be in the dog house *IF* we in fact have a dog house. I really do not know that we in fact have a dog house.

I'm kinda hoping that doesn't mean they have a litter box instead.

trying to scheme guys open on stunts etc.

There were several twists, especially in the second half where they were more comfortable with a slightly less disciplined rush lane approach.

I don't understand why CBS cut the replay short. We never really got to see if he held on long enough. It seems like he did until it was knocked out.
I think he certainly "held on to it" long enough for it to be a catch prior to it being ripped out but it definitely hit the ground while moving around in his hands before the strip. We got away with one there

Well if you go by the decision kn the Hooper catch in the Falcons/Eagles game then Gronkowski's would have been upheld too but you know how that goes, different day different interpretation.

Yeah looked like a lighter box with Butler that was in at the time. I've only been around 2 days, Is Shelton supposed to be a run stuffer? Either way it would have been just him as the big guy on the field when the texans were getting those easy runs. So not too concerned about it.
Shelton was not great yesterday. He had his good and bad moments. I expect him to improve

I initially thought it would be ruled a drop, but in the second replay you can see his elbow touch down first, which as far as I know, given the football move, makes him a runner and down. I think they changed it during the offseason to make the Jesse James catch in last year’s Pitt/NE game legal, if so it’s the same thing and Gronk is a runner and down when the elbow touched first.

Great win and performance especially defensively but i thought the Texans were god awful, Bill O'Brien is another bad football coach from the Patriots tree.

Next week will be a much tougher game.

We got away with it because we got the next snap off so fast, the ****s in New York couldn't call down to stop play. (It was inside the 2 minute, IIRC??).

That's what I love about BB. He thinks about everything, including having the offense practice such a scenario as this, getting up to the LOS asap whenever there is a questionable catch.

Bentley was brilliant all game when he was in. I think he maybe missed one or two plays in coverage and that was it.

Gilmore on Hopkins was completely shut down for the majority of the game. Did give up to penalty’s though but he had a really good game.

Rowe was good as was JJones!

The D-line was very good at times but there was one drive where we got hampered by the run.

All in all it was a very very positive game for the defence.

Josh McDaniels called a very good game by getting our run game going which helped Brady and the play action.

Dorsett had a good game. Gronk was as good as always despite the poor fumble.

O-Line did it’s job!

Special teams were poor though.

I am not complaining about the D at all. Sure they gave up yards on the ground, but I think at that point they were defending the pass.

Perfect, hell no. But not bad for week one.
